Plugin Name IImage Browser Plugin Page http://fredfred.net/skriker/index.php/iimage-browser Features – Create and browse directories – Upload images and create thumbnails – Delete files – Generates code to insert the image into the post Review I’ve been using this plugin for a long long time, right from the 1.5 days. Even with the new image uploader in WordPress 2.0 and 2.1, I have continued using the plugin. The installation process is a bit cumbersome in my opinion, because it requires you to dump one php file in the plugins folder and another php file in the wp-admin directory before you get the plugin to work. The plugin adds a button to the quicktags toolbar (which is also the toolbar in Code view of the WYSIWYG in WordPress 2.1). Clicking this button launches the image browser, where you can upload images, create directories, create thumbnails, generate the code or delete the images. IImage […]

Plugin Name Author Adsense Plugin Page http://www.kinkydress.com/php-scripts/author-adsense/ Description This plugin allows blog authors to enter their Google Adsense Publisher ID and have ads displayed on their own posts generating revenue. Features – Ability to set ratio of author to admin ads – Default fallback to admin Publisher ID in case authors’ ID is blank My Review I decided to test this plugin on my technology blog since I am thinking of opening it up to other authors. Installing the plugin is normal. You can set the admin publisher ID and individual authors can set their IDs in WP-Admin itself, which ensures that there is no messy editing of files. Admins can set the ratio of how much their ads are displayed to that of author ads. However, one feature lacking is to customize this ratio by user. Currently you’re stuck with a fixed ratio, so you can’t give your better […]

Plugin Name: Live Comment Preview Plugin Page: http://dev.wp-plugins.org/wiki/LiveCommentPreview Description: Live Comment Preview is the simplest way to get live comment previews on your site. Review: Live Comment Preview is not a necessary plugin for your blog, but it is definitely one which enhances your user experience a great deal. It performs the simple job of displaying a preview while the commenter is typing the comment. It thus provides a simple method for the user to check how his comment will appear on your blog. The installation of the plugin is extremely easy; all you have to do is upload the plugin and activate it. You may need to manually add code to your theme file, if it lacks the necessary code. However, the true power of the plugin is released if you customize its output to display exactly as the comment would appear on the blog. This will require you […]
