This is in addition to the WordPress for iPhone and WordPress for BlackBerry applications that are already available. It is built on top of the wpToGo application which has been taken over by the WordPress team and released as this Open Source Application. You can follow the development of the application at dev.android.wordpress.org and look for support on the support forums.

WordPress for iPhone Version 1.2 Available

The new version of WordPress for iPhone (and iPod touch) app is now live and available for download in the iTunes App store. This version has a lot of fixes/enhancements that many people (including me) have been waiting for. I’ve been playing around with version 1.2 for a little bit and here are some of my first impressions. New Features (and Some Comments) Landscape mode with extra wide keyboard This is probably the most desired feature for this application simply because it is physically painful to type a full length blog post in the iPhone portrait keyboard. I am glad that the portrait keyboard restriction is now a thing of the past! Link creation help I wasn’t sure where this feature was hiding at first, but I soon found the trick to invoking this feature. Help test the new version of WordPress for iPhone using the iPhone simulator by downloading the latest 1.2beta1 code from the WordPress trac. Details about the features of the new version and the download links are available from the WordPress for iPhone blog. Thank TUAW and The Blog Herald. A nice roundup of photoblogging themes and plugins available for WordPress was published by WPCandy. Many of the links are collections themselves. Definitely worth a looksee if you are looking for a nice photoblog. Nathan Rice posted a Definitive guide to Sticky posts in WordPress 2.7 complete with screenshots, style suggestions, code examples and custom loop suggestions. He even outlines a method to ignore stickies completely.
