WordPress Personas For Firefox

WordPress News

What WordPress is to Blogging, Firefox is to browsing, so what happens when we can get both of them to get together? WordPress personas for Firefox :-)

WordPress has released a new set of Personas for Firefox themed around, well WordPress, which you can install and use on the browser. The personas were designed by Chad Pugh and are based on Vintage Press and Inkwell.

Vintage Press Firefox Persona

Inkwell Firefox Persona

Interested? You will find the two personas for Firefox at this link. However, you will need to install the Personas add-on before you will be able to use these as your themes.

Personas are similar to skins, which Firefox users can add to the browser. They are somewhat similar to Firefox themes, however they can be installed quickly and easily and do not provide as much sophistication like regular themes. I will stop the banter and direct you to Wikipedia to read the rest of the dope.

This will work great for me. I use mozilla as my browser and I also use Wrodpress for Blogging! This really fits me. Thanks for sharing this info.

I have reduce using firefox lately after using Chrome. I hope Chad will do something like this for Chrome too.

FYI, you do not have to install the add-on to run the WordPress personas. Firefox 3.6 includes native support for personas, just go to the personas site, hover over a theme, and voila, you can see the persona in your browser.

This is really cool, but I wish they had an actual firefox add-on for wordpress where you can just, push a button on your toolbar, to jump right to the write post screen. I think I would want to blog more often if I had something like that, or like in my family’s case, get them to blog in the first place.

They used to have something like this in a desktop application, but they no longer do, least not that I’ve seen recently anyway

it would give me the motivation to post more often in shorter spirts. Right now I post about once every 2 months in 6-7 page spirts. if I posted like every day or every other day, I’d be more inclined to post just short blurbs instead of long thesis’s. each time lol making my blog a little more popular in the end, but I just can’t get the motivation to without a simplier way of getting to the write post page from either the browser of my desktop, without having to go thru the whole userid/password auth phase.

bubazoo, you should try the PressThis bookmarklet. Just go the Tools menu on your blog and drag the bookmarket to your bookmarks bar.
