WordPress for LinkedIn.: The WordPress Publisher Blog reports that the WordPress application is available for LinkedIn. Once this app is added and setup, your LinkedIn network will be alerted when you post something to your WordPress.com or self hosted WordPress.org blogs. To add the WordPress App to your LinkedIn account, visit the LinkedIn Application Directory. Select the WordPress App, enter your blog’s URL, and choose to display either all of your blog posts or just those tagged with “LinkedIn.” Save, and you’re all set. Wired, ZDNet and others have writeups on the new Application platform from LinkedIn.

  1. Pedro says:

I see this only works for wordpress.com hosted blogs otherwise you get the message “Sorry, we can’t find a WordPress blog at this address.”

Any plans for self hosted wordpress blogs (wordpress.org)?

  2. Hi Pedro —

The WordPress for LinkedIn app works for both self-hosted WordPress.org blogs as well as hosted WordPress.com blogs.

What’s going on is right now LinkedIn is under some really heavy load and many apps are timing out or not working properly. I’m sure this will be resolved soon – so your best bet is to try again a bit later in the day.

I’m seeing no message at all – I just get a flash, and it’s back to a blank canvas. I’m also not hosted at WordPress.com, fwiw.

    • Bill Petro says:

I’m had been seeing the same effect: turn on the app, but blank canvas. I’ve tried it in 5 different browsers, Mac and PC.

Finally got it to at least give me the dialog in Chrome, however, when I typed in my URL, it said it “can’t find a WordPress blog at this address”.

      URL: http://infox.billpetro.com

Could it be because I’m using WP-MU, and this is a subsidiary blog, not the main one at http://billpetro.com?

  4. I have a self-hosted blog through WordPress and it is not working on connecting to LinkedIn, but I really want it too because that would be totally cool. LinkedIn customer service said you guys can help me out. Can you? My blog is: http://robertstanke.com/blog.

    Thanks!

    Robert Stanke

  5. @Bill – MU should work fine. The App pulls from your RSS feed, so we are looking to see if perhaps there is some invalid XML in the feed or a conflict with the Feedburner service you are using.

@Robert – http://robertstanke.com/blog works for me when I put it into the App — so I suspect it was an earlier issue on the LinkedIn side.

  6. Mark Ghosh says:

FYI: Everything seemed to work fine when I added this blog to my profile. I did have to add the feed URI instead of the blog in order for the blank screen to go away.

  7. Michael says:

My self hosted blog is also giving me a blank page, have uninstalled and reinstalled and still same results. Have tried to follow the comments left here a a couple other blogs but still not working, any other suggestions?

  8. D. Lambert says:

I just tried again using Chrome, and it seemed to work fine.

  9. Patrick says:

It’s been working ever since I put it on my profile.

    Haven’t seen any problems (yet).

  10. It is working for me now! I should have known better to let LinkedIn work out some of their issues first before rushing to a conclusion! Thanks everyone for your feedback and suggestions/help!

  11. So , with this LinkedIn app, this crossposts blog entries to “Linked In” ? Is that right???

  12. Otto says:

Can’t get it to work at all, no matter how many times I put it in.

    This app is DOA.

  13. Sara says:

When I paste my blog link I get a blank page too.
How do I find my “Feed URI” on WordPress?

  14. fak3r says:

This works, it’s pretty nice – the theme doesn’t really go with the rest of my profile, but then neither does the ‘slideshare’ block I added too. One complaint, I can only add one WordPress blog, and I have two (both linked to within my LinkedIn profile) so it’d be nice to have posts from both of those in there.

Heck, they should just allow you to syndicate some RSS feeds together and be done with it 😉

    Nice work.

  15. Sean Carlos says:

I’m also getting the message “Sorry, we can’t find a WordPress blog at this address.” for the url above.

  16. I am also trying to add wordpress to Linkedin and i am getting the “Sorry, we can’t find a WordPress blog at this address” message.

Please help my blog address is minkbaby.co.uk

    thankyou
