KnowNow WordPress Enterprise Edition Toni spoke with MacManus about the collaboration between Automattic and KnowHow that developed into KWEE. KnowHow will market KWEE to their existing enterprise customer base and will also make it available for hosting on customers’ servers. The product will be shipped with Akismet (not sure about the remote component) and a stats package and any enhancements that the Knowhow folks will make to WordPress will be released back as Open Source. Link to Toni’s blog post announcing the collaboration and some of the explanation behind it.

I have just updated my Open Picture Window Plugin for WordPress. The only update is the much requested Quick Tags button. The plugin still doesn’t have a button for the WYSIWYG editor. I’m still working on that. Turns out to be a bit more complex that I was expected. Anyway, if you are not using the WYSIWYG then you’re in luck. The quicktags button with the name OPW should now be visible in your editor. This works similar to the link button, but it requests you for the window dimensions and title in addition to the URL. Would you like to see more functionality? Please do comment and let me know. Read more and download »

WP Podcast #6 I follow the WordPress podcast as and when I get a chance and more often than not, I stumble upon it as various different blogs talk about how cool this episode is. This time I am quite surprised at the total number of items that Charles has packed into this episode. How many of you listen to this regularly? While I am on the subject, I was really impressed with a video class that I have been taking recently. Beside the alacrity of Steven Tomlinson, I find that the videos are very well put together. With the increasing poplarity of video blogging and the increase in the number of people willing to watch online video blogs, I wish someone would produce a video blog with Steven’s format. Well, I talk about how good the format is, but never tell you what it is like. These videos are […]

I have just released The reddit button Plugin for WordPress. You can use this plugin to insert a reddit button for your post. This plugin automatically adds a button to the QuickTags toolbar in the post screen. Clicking the button will prompt you to insert the style of the button you wish to add. If you are not using the Quicktags i.e. using the WYSIWYG or you want to do it manually, you can add <!–reddit_1–> or <!–reddit_2–> or <!–reddit_3–> where you want to display the button. For correct XHTML, make sure that the code is added on a new line. Read more and download the reddit button plugin >>
