WordPress Plugins

Good morning everyone. Here are the latest and greatest (as well as updated) WordPress plugins.

New Plugins

CMS Tree Page View
Inserts a menu heading under Pages in the backend where you can see a tree-like view of your pages ala Windows Explorer.

Simple Fields
Replace the WordPress default custom fields with your own such as textareas, check boxes, radio buttons, files etc. Requires WordPress 3.0 to function. (has been tested on WordPress 3.0 RC 1)

Content Audit
Create a content inventory where you can mark content as redundant, outdated, trivial, or in need of a review for SEO or style. Requires WordPress 3.0 to function.

Contemplate
Insert custom content in posts, pages, widgets, and comments via a shortcode. Handy for managing commonly used blocks of content.

DynamicWP Image Cube
Show off your images as an animated cube.

Updated Plugins

Author Exposed
Displays author info in a cool pop-up.

SEO Ultimate
All-in-one SEO plugin that lets you set title tags, meta, no index/nofollow, canonicalization, 404s, slugs, autolinks, and more.

Table of Contents Creator
Not just another sitemap plugin. Sort results by Menu Order, Alphabetically, Post Date or Author. Show only titles or include a short excerpt. Comes with a choice of 5 different icon sets or choose to not display icons at all.

  1. Sid says:

    Author exposed looks promising

    • Len Kutchma says:

Normally I detest pop-ups but this one is kind of cool. Also, it has to been activated by actually clicking a link and not by merely hovering over it – which is also cool.

  2. I have used the SEO Ultimate plugin and it is great! It’s a must have for any wordpress blog owner. The ToC creator plugin looks interesting. Going to give that a shot per your recommendation.

    • Len Kutchma says:

Heh, I’m not actually recommending anything. I’m merely putting the info out there. 🙂

  3. Vince says:

    Nice list!

By the way, which is better? All-in-One SEO pack, SEO Master, or this SEO ultimate?

I had a bad experience with All-in-One SEO pack.

    • Len Kutchma says:

Great question. Unfortunately, because I don’t use caching, I don’t have a great answer. Perhaps some of our readers can weigh in on this one.

  4. Sam says:

Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question, but I tried looking everywhere and could not find the answer.

Do you know of a plugin/tool to import from WP into LiveJournal.
I have few fragmented blogs that I would like to consolidate?

    Thanks a bunch!

    • Len Kutchma says:

I did a bit of research but unfortunately couldn’t find any documentation on moving from WordPress to LiveJournal. The closest thing I could find are some plugins that crosspost.

      Link.

  5. All in one Seo pack is my pick.

  6. First time I heard about Author Exposed and it definitely sounds cool. Maybe I’ll use it for my other sites.

  7. Slabire says:

I’m currently using Platinum Seo, but I’ll give Seo Ultimate a shot on another blog I own.

    Thnx for updating these plugins

  8. Carries says:

The ultimate plug-in search engine optimization is great!

  9. I have used All in One SEO and it is working fine for me.
But now need test SEO ultimate, maybe it’s better.

  10. social news says:

I’ve also had good experience with the SEO Ultimate plugin and recommend it. It didn’t break my site or anything. Look forward to checking out Author Exposed.

  11. enclosure says:

SEO Ultimate is a very nice plugin, i have used it in some blogs. Good list!

  12. SEO Ultimate works for me, quick install, quick results!

  13. Most of them prefer using SEO ultimate for their blog. Plenty of benefits we can gain from it.
