Twitter Tools is an excellent plugin for posting notifications of new blog posts to Twitter. However Twitter Tools just sends the URL to the new post normally which is then shortened by Twitter itself to a bit.ly short link.

Great new plugins, especially After the Deadline!
Hi,
I have just downloaded the ‘After the Deadline’ plug-in and installed it. I tried a post and it works well. I will keep using it and see if how it manages on my site.
I am currently the only author on my site but will be opening it to guest posting soon. My question is, will it show to all the authors if they post as well or only to me? I looked at the FAQ and could not find an answer and the price is steep for more than one user.
I filled in their contact for and got a response from Raphael.
“Unfortunately there isn’t a way to restrict which authors use AtD. I’ve had a few people say 80 requests doesn’t sound like much but during my beta period I’ve collected statistics and this is about 1.5x what an active blogger uses in a month.
One nice thing, if you or someone ignores a phrase, it’s stored in a cookie so you won’t affect each other’s settings.”
