I like the ‘Under Water’ theme the most. Although I like it I probably would not use any of these themes mentioned above. I just feel that something is missing, I can’t place my finger on it.

I love the look of the Under Water theme, but I just took a look at the source and was absolutely disgusted. For example, using display:none; to preload images, using embedded div styles instead of class/id and CSS.

But the design is killer. The just need to get a better coder.

    Spicy Typography
is good. I must translate her.=)

Is Desk Space available anywhere else? Keep getting “Server Not Responding”

  5. Matt Brian (1 comments.) says:

Whilst these are nice looking themes, they don’t reach the highs that Smashing Magazine and Design Disease reach with their themes.

@Nathan – I couldn’t agree more and I’m not a designer by any stretch of the imagination. I’ve been pretty amazed at the poor quality I’ve seen in the markup behind many recent releases lately.

@Chris – I’m seeing the same problem. I’m thinking their server is metaphorically speaking “Under Water”.

Sorry about the server downtime for the Desk Space theme. Apache was acting up. Its back up for download.

I really like the Desk Space concept. It needs some small design tweaks, but it’s a clean look with a modern edge to it. I’ll definitely look into using this one with some modifications.

Thanks for the nice words Nicole. Let me know how it turns out.

Desk Space is undoubtly a wonderful theme. I really liked it a lot, more than the premium themes. I would suggest that you work more on this and make it the best theme available. Also want to give some suggestions.

1.) Inbuilt plugin to pull the flickr images inside the pages of the website only and not linking to the pages/images on flickr.

2.) Everybody out there doesnt uses adsense, so you can add place in the admin cp where the owner of the blog can simply add the adcodes from other networks and it just works out of the box. That will make it simple for everyone.

3.) Some theme options like the ones we have for joomla themes. That will make it even more amazing.

4.) An ability to have different sidebars, really that will make a lot of difference As who wants to have the same sidebar all over the website, isnt it? An easy solution will be much appreciated.

These are some suggestions. And overall i liked the theme a lot and planning to use it on my blog. :)

I am not good at working with wordpress themes and dont know how to customize it and thats why i came up with the suggestions above. I hope you will excuse me if you think i went overboard.

    Take care :)
