on the one hand, it’s good that they’re rebranding/redesigning. useful site, but hard on the eyes. and the name doesn’t exactly sound cool.
it’s a shame about the censorship. gravatars at least gives you the option to set your site to “unrated”. and if they start policing some avatars, presumably they’ll have to start removing copyrighted images as well.
I actually met with Robyn Tippens this weekend who is now the new Community Manager for MyBlogLog and also now with Yahoo. She talked this weekend at the SOBCon event in Chicago about a lot of upcoming things for MyBlogLog. It’s going to be exciting the things to come for sure.
Personally, I am glad that some of the avatars are going away. I cannot understand why I need to look at someone with size 64 fake chest and find that pertinent to building a community. If you want adult, then please go and build an adult version of MyBlogLog.
It’s about time. I was getting so fed up with pictures of young ladies in thongs and ugly guys flipping the bird showing up on my site that I disabled it…
Now, it’s just my ugly mug…and no, I am not wearing a thong.
An avid fan of business, education, technology and finance. I lead a lean, highly focussed and capable team of Java Back End developers and Front End developers through a maze of complex software wizardry to fulfill the web maintenance needs of a large chemical manufacturer. As per Myers-Briggs Personality Types, I am an ESTJ. I pride in a project completed on time and according to plan. My hobbies include all kinds of technology, anything that I can taste and anything that goes fast or flies in the air. I like to read business books and comics in my spare time.

Thanks for sharing. Looks like Yahoo realizes how powerful this tool is becoming.
I didn’t realize Yahoo! owned MyBlogLog. Where have I been!?
