Since there have been only six entries in the Blogging Essay Competition and I have received numerous requests to extend the competition due to the holidays (my MBA professors are being extremely kind as well), the Essay Competition deadline will be extended. Last date for sending in an entry to the competition is the 14th of January, 2007. If you are sending in an entry and it needs to be formatted with bullets and paragraphs, please do me a favor and copy and paste the HTML into a text file and attach it to your email. In addition, if anyone is willing to sponsor the competition or add some money/gifts the <sarcasm> already huge pile of prizes </sarcasm>, it would be much appreciated. Just send me an email if interested. For those interested in metrics, approximately 10,000 people have viewed the various entries in the competition and about 120 votes […]

2006 Web Technology Trends An essay on web technology trends with some large generalizations, some major points and some minors thoughts from McManus. Whenever I see an article like this, I would also like to see some revenue numbers associated with each entry. Though Google was mentioned quite a few times throughout the article, there was no mention of Google’s stock prices or its market cap (which I think are very valid). Also, it would be very interesting to create a heat map of this article to see which phrases/names/buzzwords were used the most in describing tech trends in 2006.

WP Theme: Adventure

WP Theme: Adventure Two column, large header, dark on light theme for WordPress with a travel theme. I like the passport stamp background and the Indiana Jones lookalike on the header. Original theme by RedFly. Since WPThemeGallery offers the theme for download from their site (among many others), I am not sure if this is a copyright violation or the author allows the distribution. Consequently, I am somewhat unsure of distributing it. If anyone has information on WPThemeGallery, please let me know. I will take the link(s) down if there is a problem.

Deacon Jim Konicki from Deacon’s Blog Discernment in the Blogdom of God* Or, can blogging make me a saint? By Rev. Deacon Jim Konicki The world of faith blogs is fascinating in its depth; and in what it, as a tool, can allow you to accomplish. Faith blogging has unlocked the world of faith to seekers and researchers in levels unprecedented since the great efforts at Christian evangelization that occurred between the 15th and 18th century.
