It’s been quite some time since we have reported back about Top100bloggers.com, but we’ve been really busy with the community. The community recently upgraded the site to a new and feature-rich application. With that upgrade came along a new design as well. Top100Bloggers.com has seen an exponentially amazing growth in the recent months. We have seen the community jump from only 100 members to currently over 700 members. We see new members signing up everyday, which is very encouraging to us as community builder.

We, as the Top100Bloggers.com staff, are here to support the users and server the community as best as possible. We are always eager to receive feedback and hear about cool events going on in bloggers’ lives. As a last note in the update about our community, we recently (about 2 weeks ago), moved to a dedicated server because the shared hosting we were on was not able to handle the amount of traffic and support we have been receiving. We look forward to seeing many of you on our site and want to encourage all of you to sign up and help build a greater community for bloggers. We want to also again, thank all of you as a community for supporting us and showing that we can help make a difference in the blogging community.

I adore Top100Bloggers and I’ve found some fascinating blogs by browsing through the list, but none of the statistics seem to match the level that the Top100Bloggers attain.

I’d love to see an explanation on the site on how the numbers work. I’ve seen blogs make it to the top 10 who have tiny numbers compared to some in the lower 50s. Is the top blog positions set by the traffic from the site driven to Top100Bloggers site? By comments? By the site’s overall traffic and statistics? By votes? Or a combination?

It would help us all understand what is so special and what it takes to make it as one of the Top 100 Bloggers.

Thanks and keep up the great work!

I’m glad you’ve enjoyed the service so far, Lorelle. To give you a little insight, it currently is based purely on the vote count on a per blog basis. We are looking into using a formula which takes all aspects of the details of a site into consideration, and then ranking based on those details. That will be a project for the future though.

We are just working hard to create a community so people can learn about each other’s blogs. We are primarily here as a central uniting place for everyone so they can share and learn.

Thanks again for supporting us, we do appreciate it =)
