My first post EVER on a blog was back in and around March 2003 but I had lost a few months of posts in an upgrade somehow. I vaguely remember writing about a cool new blogging tool that I liked, added some stuff about SlashDot and then rambled on about how I might get used to writing on a blog. I had always loved to write and typing was so much easier than pen and paper. I had just started taking classes for my Masters degree in computer science and I figured that this would be a good way to get my arms around some programming projects. I really wish I could find a cache somewhere of those pages. I might look around my old hard drives to see if there is still something there. Wait…here is something. This is from the first b2 install on my server at home, […]

LinkyLoo, WordPress Plugins

The ABC’s of Wordpres Plugins: This post MUST have taken a long time to put together! [EDIT] Astute readers have pointed out that the list is originally from mundogeek.net and a quick look-see shows that it is simply a copy and paste with no regard for the Creative Commons. Without creating too much of a controversy (this could just be a personal blog, not meant to be published, might be an oversight, I want to give them benefit of the doubt) I have taken the original link down and left the MundoGeek.net link up. Thanks for pointing this out.

WP Theme: 3 Column Relaxation Three column version of the Relaxation theme with Flickr photos on the third column. Quite soothing with lots of pictures. This would make a nice theme for a personal blog.

Silicon Valley Watcher: Can blogging boost IBM’s revenues and reduce layoffs? She said that Robert Scoble, a leading blogger at competitor Microsoft, recently posted a link on his blog Scobleizer to her site, which boosted her readership was quoted as said by Catherine Helzerman. Do these people really understand the power of blogging and how blogging evangelism works or are they just amateurish corporate bigots who are appeasing the tech-savvy shareholder? Thanks Hack The Planet

WordPress Themes for Troops: Well, not really. This author is “auctioning” off themes to raise money for our troops. Without delving into politics, the themes are nice and this is a nice way to raise some money.

Business of Blogging, LinkyLoo

21Publish: Turnkey solution to start your own branded blogging community. Useful and usable when used in the context of a school/college set of blogs or for custom webhosting/community solutions such as that of a forum or an ISP. Another niche market served. [EDIT] I must add that after looking at things closely, it looks like a multi-user blogging tool, much like WordPress with a different face. It will take a closer look at the multi-user features to understand if it is different at all.

WordPress Plugin Competition Forums

WordPress Plugin Competition Forums: As an addendum to the ongoing WordPress Plugin and Mod Competition Blog and Wiki, I have put together a set of forums as well. bbPress is the forum manager of choice and the style comes from the talented Fernando Graphicos. Please let me know if some other forum areas are needed or if something is amiss. As a side note, the code is lightweight and very, very streamlined. Loving bbPress so far. An admin console would be an excellent addition! [EDIT] Gone.
