There are many gallery plugins out there for WordPress, but did you know that WordPress has had its own gallery system since the release of version 2.5 over two years ago? To get started with a native WordPress gallery, you’ll need to create or edit the post or page that you want the gallery to appear in and then click the “Add an Image” button. You can use this to upload all of your images at full size and WordPress will automatically generate the various sizes (including thumbnails) for you. A former power-house in the blogging industry, Movable Type’s popularity began to falter when Six Apart released version 3 in 2004 with more restrictive licensing. [Continue Reading...]The public beta of Internet Explorer 9 launched just a few days ago, and WordPress.com has already launched support for IE9’s new pinning feature. WordPress.com users can now pin their blog to their Windows taskbar, allowing them to immediately launch the blog from the taskbar and write a post, moderate comments, and view stats from a contextual menu. Self-installed WordPress users can also join the pin party with the new Internet Explorer Site Pinning plugin. The plugin is only two days old, so it’s not as fully featured as WordPress.com’s implementation, but more features are on the way. The one Windows PC that I do own will forever remain on Windows XP, so I won’t be able to take part in the IE9 festivities, but I’d love to hear your take on IE9. Suddenly, an error message just like the following looms over the page you’re viewing like a dark cloud. Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /path/blog/wp-config.php:34) in /path/blog/wp-login.php on line 42 Remember the first rule in troubleshooting, don’t panic! First, you need to interpret the error message. Offhand, it would seem as if line 42 of the wp-login.php file was the source of the problem, but that’s a common misconception.
