Sure, you have a blog, but how often do you post to it? Are you posting every day, less, only a few times a year perhaps? We’d love to hear how often you blog and why, and your answers may be featured in a future post.
I originally set up my website on a fairly obsure economic topic. It combined my interest in economics with learning about software. The trouble with it being such an obscure topic is that it is difficult to add much more to it. It is never mainstream, but still gets a few visitors in the ‘long tail’ of people that are interested in it.
I have learnt a lot about wordpress, but think it is time to get a better domain name on a more popular subject that I can write more about!
I have to confess; I try to blog everyday, but blogging is hard. I am not saying that the act of blogging hard, but trying to fit it into your busy schedule can be hard. But no matter what, blogging is still fun and exciting for me.
Of course, now you’re assuming that people only have one blog. Maybe you should combine this with the question of how many blogs people have. I have 25 blogs with a bunch of writers and each blog has its own rhythm. Although, I could easily respond every day;-)
Since it is mostly a cancer survivor’s blog, I post when things of health interest arrive. I also post when I have comments about music or when I have created new music.
I blog twice a week. It’s difficult for readers to follow a blog that’s updated daily. Some people even unsubscribe if the posting frequency is very high. Also, certain articles don’t get the attention they deserve. I think it is better to blog once or twice in a week if a blogger wants to retain the interest of the readers.
People who write for the search engines tend to write multiple posts every day, but it’s people who come through the search engine to read the posts. Do remember that readers are also following the blog through email/rss, etc and these people are very important.
I used to have a higher update frequency earlier, but now I have decided that one quality/well-researched post per week is much better than seven or more trashable ones.
I try to blog daily. Anything unique I go through OR explore/discover I try to post it on the blog. Technical solutions, day to day updates, etc. It has 2 advantages. You share the knowledge you have & receive a response to it which results in more knowledge sharing & You document it whatever you explored which can be referred in near future.
If I separate my 3 “pure-blogs” from my 3 websites (with news blogs) I try to post new articles weekly on each. Including new website content that jumps to several items published a day.
I have a few blogs all of which are legal related (which is unsurprising as I am a lawyer).
I find it hard to generate posts in a regular cycle in that I am trying to comment on things of interest that have happened or are newsworthy in themselves.
Just posting about a legal ‘item’ can seem a little dull without a context.
Frequent posts are easier in criminal and employment matters but harder in other areas such as estate planning.
Well, I just started out with blogging so I’m still trying to figure out the right pace for my readers. For now I write daily since I don’t have quite an audience right now and I can experiment without making big blunders.
I blog site twice a few days. It’s difficult for viewers to follow your site that’s updated day-to-day. Some people even unsubscribe when the posting frequency is very high. Also, certain articles don’t have the attention that they deserve. I think it is better to blog site once or twice per week if a tumblr wants to support the interest in the readers.
I’m the laziest blogger on earth perhaps. Not in the sense that I post very rarely, but that I have too much ideas to share and the comparative expression is almost nill!
I blog once a week but I ensure that I maintain the consistency all the time. For me its very important to deliver a informative blog post every week since my readers expect the same and rather than blogging at a erratic pace, i prefer to maintain 1 post a week level.
We recently started “re-blogging” and now do so about twice a month but because our focus is mostly on geology-based environmental issues, we simply don’t have that much information to warrant blogging more often.
Our main source of readers are geology geeks but we’re trying to branch out by writing blog posts which offer science-based comments on different environmental issues of the day.
I blog between 2 to 3 times a week. I prefer to publish a blog post with great information and great quality and that might take me 3-4 hours work for 1000 words post.
I always update my blog twice in a day but i am astonished to see the results of this poll because 28% people blog 1 to 3 times a month however blogging needs to be update daily or thrice in a week to keep your blog readers update.
I used to blog every day, or close to it. But lately I’ve only been blogging once or twice per week. It takes time, and even though Google might prefer constant daily updates, one can only do so much!
I usually blog once a week, sometimes 2 if I’m really inspired. What I’ve found pretty handy is trying to cover a broad subject and dividing it by parts, one weekly. That way my readers are more interested and “wait” por the next part to come!
Hello
I started by blog in May 2011 and I am blogging daily. I used to write at least one post daily and accept guest posts also. My blog in now holding Page Rank 2.
for me Its very difficult to blog everyday. I’m a full time worker, I can’t get my body to walk along my brain. I really want to update my blog everyday, but I’m just to tired to do anything else. I usually update my blog 3 – 4 times a week, and in my fittest condition.
Hello.
I recently created a blog, and now I try to fill it with content. All the articles I write myself, is writing an article a few days. I think this is only the beginning of a long and hard to write articles, because the theme is very interesting to me.
Hey guys, I started getting into a routine of blogging 1-3 times a week, and it’s only because my company is running a blogging challenge for the month of January. So if you’re looking for ideas to push yourself, try setting up a blogging challenge.

I a blogging 1 to 3 times a week, I’m having a hard time scheduling my tasks. BTW, I am a part-time blogger only and I have a personal blog
I try to blog once a week. I have five websites so sometimes it is difficult. I try to keep my readers interested.
I try to blog 4 to 6 times a week. I have 2 websites so sometimes it is difficult. I try to keep my readers interested.

Nowadays I’m struggling to get new posts 🙁

I blog almost everyday. Everyday brings in something new with it and blog about it.
I blog once a week but I ensure that I maintain the consistency all the time. For me its very important to deliver a informative blog post every week since my readers expect the same and rather than blogging at a erratic pace, i prefer to maintain 1 post a week level.
At the moment the blogging frequency is very low, so from the above selection it is 1 – 3 times a month.
I think the quality matters more than the frequency.
Hi!
I have 2 blogs. And I’m trying to add new article every day. Specially, with a new blog.
Most of my blog update only 5-10 each month… everyday post update might be the best, but “content is the King” and still a King till now, right..?
I blog between 2 to 3 times a week. I prefer to publish a blog post with great information and great quality and that might take me 3-4 hours work for 1000 words post.
Hope that helps,
Mark
About 1 post per week, I need to invest more time to increase the quality and engage more readers.
I always update my blog twice in a day but i am astonished to see the results of this poll because 28% people blog 1 to 3 times a month however blogging needs to be update daily or thrice in a week to keep your blog readers update.
I blog around 3 to 4 times a week just to keep the site updated.
I used to blog every day, or close to it. But lately I’ve only been blogging once or twice per week. It takes time, and even though Google might prefer constant daily updates, one can only do so much!
