WordPress, WordPress News

We had previously mentioned the first printing of WPCandy Quarterly, a WordPress related quarterly print magazine from the folks at WPCandy, and now it looks like the first issue has begun shipping to folks who had pre-ordered it.

This is quite possibly the first ever printed WordPress publication, at least I can’t find any others, so this is a rather monumental occasion. It sounds like there are plenty left after pre-orders, so you should still be able to order one if you missed out.

The images in the shipment announcement post look great, so if you have received your copy, we’d love to hear what you think.

Update: To clarify, I meant that this is quite possibly the first ever printed WordPress magazine publication.

  1. “…This is quite possibly the first ever printed WordPress publication, at least I can’t find any others, so this is a rather monumental occasion….”

    Technically speaking you are wrong.

    WordPress for dummieS. First Edition.

That is a printed WordPress publication that was printed BEFORE this WordPress magazine.

Books, Magazines, Newspapers, Comics are all publications. Technically saking.

Good point, I meant to refer to it as the first printed magazine publication for WordPress. I should have clarified that.

  2. Rehan Khan says:

I have also ordered for this magazine 3 days ago, and still waiting for it!

  3. arena says:

to avoid international postage fees, could be cool to buy pdf version !

  4. Patrick says:

I completely missed news of this magazine before it was printed. Now that I know it exists, I’m more than a little shocked.

I’m shocked that anyone would start up a traditional printed magazine in this economy.

I’m shocked that a company would produce a PRINT product for an electronic service when transmitting it electronically (to tablet or as Arena suggested, to PDF) would be so much more cost-effective.

And I’m shocked that they’re expecting anyone to pay $12 for a copy. Twelve bucks?!? There’s no magazine I’d pay that kind of money for.

  5. Otto says:

You know, I totally thought it would have been the first WordPress magazine format publication too.

Then Matt posted this today from Dubai:

    Now I’m wondering…
