Updated Plugins

WP-Orphanage

Users who have not been assigned any Roles or Capabilities are called “orphans”. When using the shared users table trick to link up multiple WordPress installations, users who register on one of your blogs, are not given any privileges on the other blogs in the network. WP-Orphanage is a plugin that automatically adopts your orphan users by promoting them to the Role of your choosing.

K2 Style Switcher

This plugin includes a style picker widget that allows site visitors to choose the K2 style that is applied during their visit. The list of available styles, type of widget and default style and footer can all be customised. The plugin also allows for certain base styles to be applied in all cases, these save the administrator copying the same CSS snippets into each selectable K2 style.

Custom Admin Branding

The Custom Admin Branding Plugin allows you to brand and customize the WordPress administration area for clients or for personal use. You can display custom images and styles for the login screen, admin header and footer.

Comment Autogrow

    Thanks for this update.
This time is Christmas time, good time to make some snow on our blog 🙂

  2. Lazy says:

Tried the Google-News-Sitemap Plugin mentioned above (italian language) and it seems to be a little bit buggy. I refer to use another news sitemap google plugin für wordpress blogs till this plugin is bugfree.

    have a nice day

    Chris

  3. Hi Lazy can you tell me which bugs did you find ?
    Thanks

  4. Marko says:

Nitpicking: technically, Ecwid Shopping Cart isn’t a plugin, but a hosted service you can include in site/blog.

  5. For google-news-sitemap you can find English details in the official wordpress plugin page.

  6. Lazy says:

    Hi Andrea,

yes i can, of course 🙂 but if it remember your changelog(s) from yesterday right, all of the bug(s) should be fixed.

primary i recognized that it stayed with the language it_IT and doesn`t used my de_DE input in the sitemap, but i thinkt this is fixed by you yesterday, so i have to clear up, everybody can use it if he wants to.

    nice greetings to italy 😉

    have a good day

    Chris

  7. Hi Chris and thanks for feedback.

The language problem can be simply fixed following the google guidelines and I put some example before the text field…and the only way to limit errors is to put a select box with correct values.

thanks for greetings to Italy 😉

    Bye

  8. Lazy says:

    Hi Andrea,

    that´s good to read 🙂

i wish you a good time and a really successful healty week in this times 😉

    Chris

  9. I am very interested in this WP-TTFGen because I am currently building a site for some beauty product related topics and I badly needed to use script-like fonts. Of course, these are not available.

I have yet to explore this plugin, hoping that this will not impact negatively seo-wise. (Imagine losing the power of h1 tags when using images in its place).

Post-ordering is also worth bookmarking as I’m pretty sure this will come in handy in the near future.

I wonder how you get to know about these useful plugins so quickly. Thanks.

  10. Darrin says:

I’m curious about the google news sitemap. Seeing that it’s not in english makes it a little hard to understand what it does. You’re saying that by using the plugin it will submit articles from my blog to google news?

  11. Hi Darrin on the official wordpress plugin page at wordpress.org you can see all in English.

With this plugin you can make a request of inclusion in Google News if your url doesn’t respect google news requirements.

The first step is to ask google for inclusion in google news and the sitemap is only one of these steps.
