Saturday Subscriber Count Drop?: If you were wondering what caused a huge drop in your subscriber count this morning in the Feedburner chicklet, their blog has an explanation. I figured Google was not returning their numbers correctly since subscriber details showed none from Google. The whole Feedburner chicklet thing is a little very narcissistic and might be less valuable/reliable than most of us would like to believe, but I am a sucker for stats. PS: Mr. Cashmore, you need a search form that is easy to find.
thanks for the update. I thought my feed subscribers dropped few hundreds over night.. Ya, I check feed counter EVERY HOUR! 😛
thanks, thats explains why my feed count drop by more than 1/2
I agree, the search form on Mashable.com is not the easiest to locate. I’m also a sucker for stats and I just like being able to see a number which tells me upfront what the facts are.
It seems to have happened again – I dropped from 660-ish to 440-ish today.
I have never been one to focus on numbers too much. It is not a bad thing to do, but people end up getting obsessed with numbers. They spend time checking stats, that could be spent elsewhere. In the end just keep improving your user experience, keep adding helpful original content, and the numbers will go where you want.
