iWPhone WordPress Plugin and Theme by ContentRobot:
The iWPhone WordPress Plugin and Theme automatically reformats your blog’s content for optimized viewing on Apple’s iPhone. It detects the iPhone’s User Agent and serves up the content with the special theme only to iPhone visitors, all other browsers will view your WordPress blog with your current theme.
Delish! A classmate of mine is an AT&T regional manager and has an iPhone. I will be checking out WeblogToolsCollection.com in <sarcasm>glorious EDGE speeds</sarcasm> tomorrow! 🙂
Wow, methinks they’re taking this iPhone thing a bit far.
Wow, so not only are people jealous of iPhone users in the real world, they now have reason to on the internet too–a special little iPhone only club.
Targeting any type of mobile device is something that we should expect to see more and more. Especially if we can determine some sort of demographic about the user. I am interested to see what the adoption rate of the iPhone will be past the initial hype.
Interesting concept, but not really necessary. The iPhone does a _really_ impressive job of rendering full-size web pages. You can see the whole page, then zoom in on a particular colum or section for reading. This plugin would be good for other mobile devices though, if you can figure out the agent-sniffing.
Somehow my theme automatically transferred back to “default” after installation of the plugin after some hours. I don’t know exactly when it happened, but I’ve seen it twice. So I disabled the plugin for now.
My iphone theme also reverted to my regular theme after several hours. Very strange. I can’t get it to work anymore. It sure was nice while it lasted.
Ugh – tried it, and it mangled my 3-column template. Seems to only work if you’re using the basice WP template.
I am going to install this right away. I have been hoping for someone to do this since I got my iPhone. I will do a write up about it as soon as I got it set up.
If anyone is having problems with our iWPhone plugin/theme, please either post your problem in the comment section on http://iwphone.contentrobot.co.....and-theme/ or use our contact form located here (http://www.contentrobot.com/contact). It is also helpful if you include a list of the plugins you have installed and the current theme you are using. We will do our best to look into and fix the problem for our next release.
Thanks guys. An admin version of this would be awesome!
Hey looks like a great tool. Does it work with wp-cache?
