I’ve ‘only’ got 713 posts over 5 1/2 years on my blog (since September 2001). I’ve got another blog that I started in 1998, and it’s got 4500 posts. But most of those are from after I put the site in an auto-pilot “planet” mode (it aggregates news from other sites) about three years ago.

Thanks for posting this to help me find the top 100. It’ll take a bit of time…but I know they are out there…I’ve already heard from a bus load of people.

  3. Geof F. Morris (13 comments.) says:

I’m up around 3500 on ijsm.org. I’m just finishing up my sixth year.

Not to be a smart ass or anything, but the definition of prolific is producing in large quantities or with great frequency, therefore post count would be an accurate measure of prolificacy.

As for my post count, it’s shamefully low so I won’t even admit the number. Obviously, I’m not a prolific blogger. ;)

I just passed 1000 posts on my blog, after about 13 months. If I hadn’t dropped the posts going from Blogspot to WordPress, deleted an entire year of posts from v. 2.0 of my blog, and then lost the database in moving to 3.0, I’d probably be one of the top 100 prolific bloggers. As is…eh!

    Sigh.

I’m only up to 550 posts in the matter of 9 months, seems like I need to be a little more aggressive in my posting strategies ;)

  7. andrew wee (1 comments.) says:

I’m ‘only’ at 288 posts in 6months of posting.

While it’s admirable to have post quantity, post quality is just as important IMHO.

I’m finding that I’ve shifted from posting once a day to a once a day/2 day schedule, especially if I don’t have a lot to say that day.

But a high post content shows commitment to the craft!

117 posts in five months … I’ll check back with you in another 4 years … ;)

  9. Anthony (2 comments.) says:

227 posts in about 12 months.

  10. Ajay (209 comments.) says:

some 1200 posts on http://ajaydsouza.com/ and around 350 on http://techtites.com/

  11. Elron Steele (1 comments.) says:

492 in just under a year (I started on March 23rd, 2006) … so I average a bit more than one a day … I don’t necessarily think “prolific” is my main goal though … i write when there’s something to write about …

  12. Truden (17 comments.) says:

My first post is from June 18 2005 and my last post from March 03 2007. All together forty nine (49) :D

  13. John Burgess (1 comments.) says:

I’m at 2,792 posts on Crossroads Arabia, a blog focused on the importance of US-Saudi relations to the US. I write about what’s going on in that country, noting reforms and efforts at changing a strictly traditional Islamic society.

This blog ‘officially’ started in 2004, when I left the US Foreign Service, with a couple of prior attempts at other sites and with other blogging software. I generally have 4-6 posts/day, though that can drop to zero when I’m traveling or during the holidays.

  15. grandMasterkrust (1 comments.) says:

There are currently 4,201 posts and 428,016 comments, contained within 14 categories.

We have 6 writers and about 3500 registered users and that is just last year and this year so far – prior to that we ran MT.

We are a sports site covering rugby union and there are close to 300 matches annually – so its easy to generate so many posts

  16. Les (4 comments.) says:

Currently 1,877 posts: a mixture of reviews, muttering and recording weight loss (or not). Started in February 2004. Or November 2003 if you believe a couple of back-dated posts :)

  17. David Culpepper (1 comments.) says:

I’ve have 4 posts in 3 days does that count? ;-)

I also have a sports blog with nearly 500 posts in just over a year…

  18. christine (5 comments.) says:

There are currently 1,398 posts and 3,368 comments on my blog, Infinitepink. I post all kinds of stuff… music, artwork, gossip about my rotten neighbors, celebrity bashing and personal junk. Come on over for a visit if you like. (You know you want to.) :)

  19. NewMexiKen (3 comments.) says:

    10,056

  20. thatedeguy (5 comments.) says:

Well, if you count the posts on all three blogs, I’ve got 1,135 and counting. Just the main one, and I’ve got 394.

  21. Patrick Havens (14 comments.) says:

There are currently 1,425 post and 424 comments, contained within 209 categories.

Mind I’ve been “spamming” at my blog Living in the Whine Country [http://www.litwc.com] for a bit over a year.

  22. impz (1 comments.) says:

There are currently 444 posts and 4,889 comments, contained within 53 categories.

I guess mine is pretty decent for a 6 months blog :). Some of my entries are like 2000+ over words though when I can break them up …

Sigh, i blame my laziness at times to edit.

  23. Rudy Carrera (2 comments.) says:

I am nearing 3,000 posts. I love blogging, although I can’t say my site sticks with any one topic.

  24. Pande (9 comments.) says:

    1,633 posts and 39,865 comments.
    Am I a prolific blogger?
    ;-)

  25. Meredith (24 comments.) says:

Wow…looks like I am the most prolific single blogger so far (on this thread). I have 3,751 posts dating back to March 2001, though I didn’t start blogging regularly until August 2001. I’ve been blogging at least once a day since April 2004, except for a couple of missed days here and there.

  26. Aaron Underwood (1 comments.) says:

Check out my sons site. Its been around for just 3 weeks and has 37 post and 728 comments in 2 categories. Seems like a lot to me but I am new to this.
