However, I feel too strongly about this topic for me to ignore it forever, so here is the gist of my thoughts. I really like the word attribution and I find the lack of attribution disturbing. I bring this up because there are thousands of websites that absorb and regurgitate information published elsewhere for monetary gain without so much as a line stating where the original item was published. I used to have a major problem with them until I realized that there were just too many to deal with. There are lots of very good resources on how to deal with content theft. I […]

WP Theme: Pinky and the Brain Two column, very pink and metallic theme for WordPress with Breast Cancer Awareness in mind. The author requests that you donate $5.00 to the Breast Cancer foundation. The theme is well put together with a “featured post” and “sidenotes” as a category that gets displayed in the sidebar. Striking.

WP Theme: Hoofeiv3

WP Theme: Hoofeiv3 Two column, clean, clear, white and dark theme for WordPress that looks like a Hemingay mod. I really like the comment buttons (has a very 2.0 feel). The theme fills up most of the page and even though I could not find a good demo, comments on the page led me to Jammed which is a good demo of the theme. Looks like del.icio.us and Flickr integeration are also built in.

WP Plugin: Timeline This plugin will create a table in your wordpress database to store important events in your life (or anything else). You simply create a Page and add the timeline code < --timeline--> to have a timeline appear. Events can be linked to blog entries. A WordPress Administrator Options panel allows you to control several aspects of the display. Could be useful for many different types of chronological blogs.

Good Blog Writing Style There are already too many “good blog writing” articles out there but I find that Phillip does a very good job of putting together some good ideas. I try to follow almost every one of these (except for #1) and found myself nodding in agreement as I read through. Most of it also reminds me of stuff in the manual of style and of advice from teachers, professors and authors that I have tried to adhere to. The first link is the one most people click on, so it should also be the main link for your article. and Credit your sources with a mention and link. are golden.

WP Comments built with Yahoo! UI Weird cool, highly AJAXed WordPress commenting system built with Yahoo! UI. The experience is definitely worth a clickthrough though I am really not sure of the usability of many of the features. Looks more like a showcase for the Yahoo UI capabilities and the programming capabilities of the author than actual functional improvements. However, it seems to be very well accepted by the public and is definitely full of eye candy! Thanks Corante
