I know this is probably not the place to ask a question. But I am so curious. “Can someone who knows zero about php learn to work with WP & plugins, & themes without having to go to college?” Has anyone been successful trying? I have ideas but no way to implement them.
Cranky and Codescheme are my two favs in this bunch. Thoughtlog is pretty decent too – though only so so. I like how it feels like it could be really easy to customize and play with.
i was lured to wordpress under the impression i was going to be enjoying making a ufo site to post, i gave wordpress.com all the information they ask for, now i can’t log in. i’m humiliated and frustrated. I have wasted an entire morning. Gees i’m pissed, i got to go vent
@ Doc… Have you considered getting your own TLD? WP is really a super easy install, and it fly’s like an eagle! I know little to no code, but WP makes it quite easy to maintain, and do some things with for the beginner.
@Guy I like to think that I’ve done ok without going to college to learn programming. Decide for yourself http://flyingkiwis.co.nz and http://yourwish.co.nz, both based on existing themes, but highly customized.
I find the best way to learn was to have a theme you like and edit it, see what happens when you change this or that. Good luck!
I really liked thoughtlog, I agree, it looks easily customizable and it’s a bit girlie lol I generally love Teresa’s themes.
Thanks much, Keith.
Great themes… keep up the good work.

I really like the first two, Cranky Hemingway and Libertine. Thanks for these.
CodeScheme wins my vote for being the best looking theme in this roundup. Can’t wait to see a group of free themes that blow us out of our seats.
Can you tell me plugin name used display message “Readers who viewed this page, also viewed:”?
TIA
