I attended one a couple of years back when I was in the US and it was an incredible learning experience. Bit gutted there isn’t one organized for South Africa.
Pratish, I attended the one in Cape Town last year mentioned by James – it was great and they had some really good panelists too. Had the good fortune to chat to Mark Forrester of Woo themes amongst others and found the perspectives really revealing… check out the videos on the wordcamp site it was pretty well documented.
I have yet to attend one of these… I’m disappointed they don’t have at least one in India, especially given the growing number of WordPress-related developers in places like Bangalore. Anyway, at least there are videos.. better than nothing
I have never heard of this before. I just checked the list and I’m happy to see they have one in Australia, there isn’t too many blogging events that come out our way
May have to check out Wordcamp Windsor in the summer. Looks like that’s as close as they get to London. Looks like they’re probably just a good place to meet like-minded people as much as anything else!
Two months ago I hardly knew anything about WP, now after designing a website and getting into the SEO arena a little bit I see it’s a HUGE world, to the point that it is absorbing a lot of hours of my every day, so I can imagine this Camps must be an overwhelming amount of delights for WP addicts!
James began using WordPress in 2004. Being new to WordPress (and blogging in general), he quickly found the WordPress Support Forums and basically never left. James currently resides in sunny Southern California, where he enjoys bringing happiness to millions of WordPress.com users.
I <3 WordCamps!

There was one at Cape Town in October of last year, so there’s still a chance that there could be one this year.

There are two so far, at Pune and Bhubaneswar specifically. You can see a full list here.
I’m wondering if there’s going to one near New Haven?
It looks like the closest will be New York City. It doesn’t appear to be scheduled yet, but there was one in June of last year.

I’ve been using WordPress for the last 5 years, and i can confirm it is the best platform available.
