WordPress 2.7.1 RC1 has been released officially today as per Ryan Boren’s mail in the WP-Testers list.
The following have been fixed since WP 2.7.1 Beta 1, which was released earlier this week.
- URL column in Edit Links removes www. from domains that end in www
- Theme preview fails when theme in subdirectory
- ‘Draft Saved’ current_time not reflecting timezone setting in the edit area
- Revisions do not respect time zone offset
- Canonical redirect of feed URLs with suffixes is wrong
- index.php file in the plugins folder makes the Dashboard fail
With this release, we’re much closer to 2.7.1 final being made available for all users.

Realising it the day of the WordCamp in Paris. Cool 😉
Why are they at RC1 when 40% of the bugs haven’t been worked on? They are wasting time by testing software that they know doesn’t work.
There`s a big difference between working and contains a bug!
I’ve never seen a domain that ends in www 🙂
now that you mention It, I think its probably a mistake
Heh. No, it’s just confusing. 🙂

Basically, it was removing “www.” from the link, anywhere in it. So “extra-www.org” would become “extra-org”. That’s been corrected so it doesn’t do that anymore.
I was wondering about that as well 😛 Just thinking – they have a new domain end now? And ‘when did that happen?’ Interesting bug 🙂
Thanks for the update, thanks for sharing info about the www issue. I was thinking I’ve gone mad, insane hey 🙂
thanks that they fixed the index.php issue.
LOL, thanks for this! I lost my dashboard weeks ago and even wrote a small piece about it (http://www.thisismyurl.com/tut.....sappeared/) and how to fix the problem. I’d assumed it was meant to be a new ‘feature’ in 2.7 but couldn’t figure out what it was meant to do.
I am hardly waiting for the 2.7.1 🙂 Come on guys!
hmmm. My dashboard still fails if there’s a index.php file in my plugins folder – running 2.7.1 installed fresh yesterday.
