Matt Interview at SXSW: The information contained in the interview is not all that novel but if you have never heard Matt’s voice before, this is your opportunity. Some interesting tidbits on where WordPress (.com and .org) might be headed.

Maybe I am feeling a little too cynical, but I think this April Fool thing has run its’ course. I had started to put together a list of all the blogs that were making the half hearted attempt and then just lost interest. It was cool for a year, now it just looks tacky. What news did you come across today that was a joke? [EDIT] Let me excuse myself while I start a list. This might be interesting after all. WordPattern Google Romance WOOT Think Geek Yahoo Search A pretty definitive list thanks to Waxy MSN Ubuntu Pretty funny videos on MSN.com
[Continue Reading...]WP Plugin: Send Private Email Lets you send emails to your blog users from your admin screen. I can see this being really useful for multi-author blogs (though there is a large possibility of abuse).
[Continue Reading...]WP Plugin: Flickr Album There have been other versions of this plugin floating around but this one caught my eye because the example albums seemed very nicely put together and since I am my best yardstick, I consider this plugin well put together. It even adds a “recent Flickr Photos” on your admin screen when creating a new post in case you want to add one of them to the new post you are writing. PS: I love the tagline: MSG free since 2005

[Continue Reading...]Presenting my fourth plugin for WordPress. It is called Open Picture Window Plugin and is based on my Open Browser Window Plugin. Have you ever wanted to display only a thumbnail and link to the new image. However, you don’t want the image opening in the same window and you don’t want all the toolbars and more in the new window? This is where the plugin steps in. Using javascript you can open the image in the new window. You can specify all the properties of the new window. You can also give it a title which is used as alt and title text for the image tag. The code that is generated is perfect XHTML compliant. Additionally, it also works perfectly if you serve your site as application/xhtml+xml. Read more and download the Open Picture Window Plugin.
[Continue Reading...]Domain Name Thesis I am deginitely being facetious when I write the title for that link, but Dennis Forbes has put together a definitive article on the state of domain names (especially .com domain names) that I have read to date. There are statistics galore on that article, including obscure information such as number of .com domain names taken from Census common names. Definitely worth a look see.

[Continue Reading...]Online FeedReader Comparisons: Frank Gruber from TechCruch examines the online FeedReader market and puts together a matrix for the comparison. Feedlounge was one of the fastest in the mix. What strikes me the most are the features that he puts on the matrix and how few of the “big players” in the feed market actually support those features beside bloglines and Google reader. There are also a couple of upcoming projects listed including Attensa.
