I modified one of our Jamaica pictures to test. I had some problem with the original (it looks like there are some logistic issues with the software not storing different pictures for different sessions). This might be really useful for bloggers that are editing their blogs or adding pictures where they do not have access to a good photo editor. The following picture was cropped, saturation tweaked, sharpened and randomly modified. 🙂

WP Theme: OXY Three column, light on very black theme for WordPress with a stress on simplicity and minimalism. Basically, it is a simple text theme with yellow text on black background with three columns and I like it (beside the yellow maybe). Straight and to the point.

I have just updated my Open Picture Window Plugin for WordPress. The only update is the much requested Quick Tags button. The plugin still doesn’t have a button for the WYSIWYG editor. I’m still working on that. Turns out to be a bit more complex that I was expected. Anyway, if you are not using the WYSIWYG then you’re in luck. The quicktags button with the name OPW should now be visible in your editor. This works similar to the link button, but it requests you for the window dimensions and title in addition to the URL. WP Widget: MyBlogLog Add a MyBlogLog box to your WordPress sidebar with this widget. MyBlogLog is a social community of bloggers via which bloggers can communicate, view profiles etc of people that visit your blog. Interesting concept. I noticed some of these features in Technorati.

Blogger Interviews from Bloggertalks.com Thord Daniel Hedengren recently started BloggerTalks.com where he interviews bloggers and blogging personalities. He has started off with John Evans and Liz Strauss. Since many of the blog network type news sites are doing interviews already, Thord might have to carve out his own niche with some twist on the simple typed out interview, but time will tell.

Pew research on bloggers If you are into numbers and market research, this research report from the Pew Charitable Trusts might be of interest. Though no one report can really be trusted completely, the numbers, values and opinions are very interesting, especially if you are interested in monetizing the blogging population.
