Alex King has declared the winners of CSS Styles contest. There were a total of 38 new styles that can be downloaded as a result of this contest and a round of applause goes out to the winners and the contest organizers. This brings the total number os usable WordPress CSS styles to 44! Here is the link to download them all or browse through them.

The CSS styles competition at Alex King‘s website is really heating up. There are some really wonderful examples of these themes on display and there is more to come! If you are looking for a nice theme to start with or for some design ideas, this is definitely worth a check out. If I was not that busy this semester, I would have worked on something (though my work does not validate most of the time). Thank the authors and please provide attribution if you use their work.

Here is a new template which is of fixed width and centered, but still retains the original design and colors of WordPress. Here is the an example of the template in action and here is the link to the new template CSS.

Alex King has done it again! He provides a hack for WordPress to build a really simple style switcher and includes four (?) different styles in the download. I personally really like his Golf Style. Test it out here and download it from here.

Since I made the Mindful Musings template WordPress 1.0 compatible and there has been considerable amount of interest in downloading that template, I cleaned it up a little and posted it for everyone. Here is the link to what the cleaned version looks like and the download link to the zip file. Unlike other WP templates, you will need to upload the included index.php to get everything to look right.

I found a couple of other nice templates for WordPress. Reyman has one which looks very clean and polished and looks somewhat like the old B2 theme, just much more smooth. Check it out here and download it here.
I have modified my personal blog template (again!) and now I have three columns, but the menus show up on the right on 2 different columns, kinda different and funky. Once the CSS code is done completely, with a browser window resize, the 2 menu columns with merge into one. Check it out here.

The new Theme/CSS/Template for this blog is another that is added to my collection. You can download it from http://wordpress.org/resources/charleen/ As you can tell, I think it is done quite well, with very light artisitic undertones. Good job Matt!

Looking for Templates or skins to make your WordPress site different from the next geek’s? I am sure you have looked at or downloaded the one hosted on this site.
