General, WordPress Hack

I’ve put together 2 quick pages that cover: – Creating new Quicktags in the post area to save having to type out those tags that you may use very often but are not in the default install. – Replacing your WP login password with a new one using phpMyAdmin. Both have screenshots. They can be found, along with the WP CSS and FTP guides at http://www.mfr.f2s.com

Cool Scripts, WordPress Hack

Kitten has released version 2.0 of her Spam Words Plugin: After the recent comment and pingback flood that I had overnight, I think this is going to be the solution. As usual, Kitten has done a great job with this upgrade to her original spam words plugin. Here are some of the details of the upgrade: # User approval and editing of the items being added to the spam list before they’re added. # The “Delete Comments as Spam” button is now inserted via the DOM, and no longer requires editing of core files. # Backwards compatible with version 1.1. So if you’ve already edited edit-comments.php you can install version 2.0 and it won’t break your page. # Complete documentation. # GPG signed code to ensure that it hasn’t been tampered with. This is pretty slick(pending implementation), Thanks Kitten!!

New Climb to the Stars (Stephanie Booth) >> Batch Category Editing For WordPress: Ever mess up your categories in WordPress and wish you had a way to assign categories in a batch, through lesser screen clickthroughs? This is your ticket! While we are talking about batch editing modes, I wish the batch editing modes in Mingus (for both comments and posts) would: Work Work better 🙂 Have a “Check all” button for the comments I might come up with something that allows deleting by comment number range. I personally would find that incredibly useful with all the flooding that I have been experiencing.
