Bloggers are Dangerous: I followed a chain of posts to the Innovation Creators blog to finally find the original author of the picture below. The linked article actually talks about how bloggers are perceived to be dangerous by various companies and their executives and Rod investigates the social and technological implications of blogging on the Enterprise. If you are into that sort of thing, it might be an interesting read. However, the picture of the various blog gang signs interested me the most. Afterthought: I wish more people credited the original author instead of linking to the last place they found an article of interest, especially when there is a CC license involved. It fills a niche that I have carefully treaded in the past and have received negative feedback for (rightfully so). 99 Designs allows you to crowdsource your design needs. If an organization or an individual seeks a new design, they hold a “contest” of sorts using the tools built into 99 Designs and offer up some money for their project. Designers are then allowed to post entries for these and the contest holder is allowed to pick and choose the best design(s) and distribute the money based on the winning design. In the past designers have turned up their nose on design contests for a variety of reasons, most of which I agree with. [Continue Reading...]Although there were over 80 security/bug fixes in WordPress 2.5.1, there was one thing that crept up immediately following the release. According to numerous reports by individuals and a ticket filed in the WordPress Trac when a user resets their password, the password reset link received in the email does not work. The error message that is received looks like this “Sorry, that key does not appear to be valid.” This bug has already been fixed and will be included in WordPress 2.5.2. Since I came across this cool app for Facebook that allows you to attach polls to your Facebook pages, I added it to the weblogtoolscollection.com Facebook fan page. With that in mind, where do you read weblogtoolscollection.com? The poll embed code is not behaving. If you want to vote, please visit the facebook fan page, click on “View polls for weblogtoolscollection.com” and vote there. I should have used a better polling plugin like the one from GamerZ.
