Link Cosmos and rel=”nofollow”

If you are using the Technorati Link Cosmos using PHP then links that this tag generates will be counted by Search engines as being valid – which they may well be. But if a spammer sets up a blog, and links to you, you will be counted as providing a valid link. You might not want that to happen. The altered script can be grabbed here: http://www.tamba2.org.uk/downloads/cosmos.phps It won’t remove the link and it’s not ideal as you are tarring all links with the same brush, but it will make the spammers link useless for pagerank purposes.

WordPress Smartphone Client: The author has written a .NETCF client for smartphone using C# that can: Create new posts Edit existing posts Get user info Retrieve user blogs Now thats a cool toy! I wonder if I can hack in support for enclosures and natively support podcasts? At this time, the client is in development but will get a GUI soon and the author claims that it works on PocketPC. It uses the MetaWeblog API and the xmlrpc .dll files used are from Cook Computing.

Image Panorama: Plugin for WordPress. I love panoramas myself but have gotten away from creating them. I can see this being really useful for realty/design/tourism blogs that will be able to fully utilize the benefits of panoramic pictures. For others like me, it is just a cool tool! Thanks Wordlog

Cool Scripts

If you have not already used the UploadBin offered by Weblogtoolscollection.com click on the link and try it out. It is a public upload application for file distribution much like pastebin but for files (and much more secure for users). However, since a lot of people are not comfortable with leaving their files on a public server and I have received a considerable number of requests for the source, I have put together an install for the product and it can be downloaded here. The software is released under the GPL and does not contain any warranties or gaurantees either implied or promised. Use at your own risk. Please let me know if there are any bugs or if you have any suggestions.
