Blogging Essay Competition Updates

The Blogging Essay Competition is coming to a close very quickly. We are going to stop accepting entries on the 14th of January. So if you are planning to participate, you need to get your entry in as soon as possible. There have been fifteen entries so far. Lots of people have read the essays and many have helped rate the entries. I will post detailed statistics once the competition closes. Remember to email the entries to mark at wltc dot net with an HTML attachment of your formatted essay.

Even though it sounds mundane, this could be a useful tool for your blog, especially if you want to understand the general demeanor of a particular reader. The grouping is done by email address and installation is very simple. I have seen similar functionality on forums and such.

Leafletter Create a flash based mini webpage that can be embedded on any site/blog where HTML is allowed. LeafLetter uses a browser based WYSIWYG tool to generate the content. It reminded me of the MyBlogLog profile page in a much more generic and portable format that is geared towards display on social networking sites.

New Design Hiccups

Thanks to all of you that have liked the new design. It has really helped page views and lots of people are finding tools that used to get ignored. All of those are good things. However, the new theme might have caused certain problems as well. I have heard complaints in two general areas: This blog is broken on Internet Explorer 6.x . Not sure if and how I can fix it since I do not have access to a machine with IE 6 and IE 6 is on its way out. I have received screenshots from a couple of helpful readers, but they only go so far to help. Any ideas or suggestions on fixes would be greatly appreciated. Google seems to have lost most of its interest in WeblogToolsCollection. My Google traffic has dropped down to a single referral yesterday. I checked the Google cache to make sure […]
