WordPress 3.5 has entered early development and will be featuring the new Twenty Twelve default theme.
If you’re curious about what went into the new default theme, designer Drew Strojny took a reverse approach to this in his talk at WordCamp San Francisco 2012, How not to Design a Default Theme.
Currently, Twenty Twelve is available to WordPress.com bloggers if you want to play around with it. It will also be available via the official Theme Directory for WordPress.org bloggers shortly, and included with the release of WordPress 3.5.
Wow, that’s a nice, fresh look for WordPress! The more I read about it, the more I’m looking forward to the next version.
Drew also gave some great tips about skin development, thanks for sharing the link!
Excellent! 3.5 sounds smarter for sure, hopefully it gets out soon. I always design themes for my blogs starting from wordpress’s base theme.
Hey,
I guess this is good training for making your own blogs. I have been using these tips to design a theme from Drew. I have seen this video few days ago.
Thank you for your great post.
