Fesbuk
fesbuk is, yet another Facebook-like WordPress theme. Comes with features like author profile page, custom author thumbnail and profile pic, etc.
Wooden
Fixed width, widget ready and gravatar ready two column theme
BLANK
BLANK is a WordPress theme with all the functionality of a typical WordPress theme but almost none of the styling. The idea is that when starting a new theme, it is far easier to use this as a base then a theme that is already finished and styled.
Natural
Natural Theme is a free WordPress Theme 980px wide with two Sidebars a 160px and 300px (Adsense) and 5 Widget Positions: Left, right, top below navigation (whole wide), top of postings and below postings, and there is also an Option Page to populate the Footer.
Fesbuk has taken facebook’s look, hmmm…come on WLTC why are you promoting themes that are clear copies/clones of other sites, I know facebook did not give permission.
I see nothing wrong with that really, Miroslav.
There are plenty of wp themes that take the look of popular sites.
Digg comes to mind, some google clones too I guess.
The authors aren’t promoting it as their own design either.
hi, I’m the author of fesbuk theme.
Actually this theme created based on my interest about the new look of Facebook profile page. As you can see this theme not entirely clone Facebook, there’s many difference. And I think I have quote ” Facebook-like WordPress theme” to credit Facebook.
thanks for all your comments.
Agree with you Matt. I don’t see any problem if we use Facebook interface on our wordpress blog. In fact, Facebook should thank the designer. Yes to say that they are already popular, but to keep the craze of Facebook going on, I should say that, that is a free promotion for them.
Wooden themes looks great
I am no facebook follower. I think I have been there twice which is three times too many. But, that doesn’t affect my opinion of fesbook (which by name if nothing else clearly ID’s its inspiration): bland and devoid of curiosity. Perhaps for the inner parts (non-public) of a site, holding description or other mundane verbiage or instruction allowing user discourse it could be used, but never as a full fledged, read me blog or WP site facade.
As for the plagiarism of another site, that is in the eye of the beholders, not the mind of the creator. One of the best WP themes ever mimicked the NYT.com. It was, unlike the NYT, truly awesome. The NYT beheld to be copyright infringement. The rest is banished history…
I suspect a similar resolution here. So if you like the “fes” theme, download it now. My opinion is the is that despite its dull visual it will be history very shortly.
If anyone knows where that NYT theme can be found, I’d love a copy. The NYT is in financial trouble and the theme maybe usable in the near future. I want to be ready for that…
I don’t see anything wrong with the Fesbuk theme. It’s not like someone is going to visit a page that looks like this and think “oh, how did I get to Facebook?”. It’s just a nice clean looking theme that has a nice flow and is easy on the eyes.
Really, I like “Blank”. It’s really cool and I’ll bet it was a lot of work for the hit-sucking author.
Hi! I really like fesbuk theme. Creating clones of already existing sites is ok. I mean, even the name of the theme suggests that the author found inspiration in Facebook. This kind of work can bring us improvement when it comes to certain sites we already like. GJ!
