If you cannot see, the video, please visit this link: Absolute Comments – Video Plugin Review
Today’s WordPress Plugin video review is of Absolute Comments by PlanetOzh.
Video Summary: Absolute Comments is a major improvement over the WordPress 2.5 Comments Panel. The plugin allows you to reply to comments easily without having to visit a post. The plugin also allows you to view all comments for a particular post. An immense timesaver.
Pros: Major improvement over the existing WordPress 2.5 comments panel. The plugin makes it easy to reply to comments.
Cons: None, although it would be nice if there was a way to change the default reply text (or have several options) in the admin-panel without having to edit the plugin’s code.

If it threaded comments as well, after replying to a comment, and also send the reply to the commenter that would make it perfect. I’ll stick to Brian’s threaded comments for now, and Comment Mailer.
Wow. That is awesome. Dloading now…
I use ‘Better Comments Manager’ myself, though this looks more promising … BCM adds a whole new link to the main menu rather than integrating directly into the system

Shame it does not allow you to reply anonymously when logged in as admin, for example using a fake name etc etc.
I really like the looks of this plugin. Don’t get many comments on my blog, but can see how useful this will be just the same. Downloaded and installed.
Great review; and great plugin — thanks for bringing it to my attention.
Thanks for the video, Ron. Can I take it that “Absolute Comments” is compatible with the “WP Ajax Edit Comments” plugin? The pair would offer some great functionality if it is.
Thanks guys for the comments. I’m glad you all like the video.
@Kirk, yes they work together thankfully.
@Martin, I’m curious why you would want to…
@Khris, I think the older (non-2.5 version) had threaded replies. Not sure if this one does.
Thanks for posting this Ronald. Very cool video review as usual.
This plugin supports threaded comments, but you need a plugin/theme that actually does the threading. It’s just built-in compatibility and not a feature in itself.
You’re welcome Ozh. And thanks for giving me pointers on the screencasts. I’m still learning as I go 🙂
My first thought after I installed it was “what do I have to do to make it thread them,” but it did it automatically. I was very impressed when I saw that.
Thanks Ohz for an excellent plugin. It has saved me quite a bit of time (and bandwidth) in the last week alone.
This Plugin looks nice for sure. I will give it a try later. But I fear it will only work with 2.5, not 2.3?
@Malte
If you want to use it on 2.3, you have to use the older 1.0 version.
