SezWho: Commenter Reputation Plugin

10
responses

SezWho Offers Portable Reputations : Web Worker has a thorough writeup on the SezWho service which allows commenter reputation and rating across the web. Installation is really simple with their WordPress Plugin (also for MT). Web Worker seemed cautious about professing the success or viability of this service. However Read/WriteWeb, who is already using SezWho, was a lot more upbeat about the prospects. WeblogToolsCollection on the other hand, has been bitten hard by third party services and their scalability issues and I am going to shy away from this one for now. Sadly, it is quite hard to determine the dependability of a remotely hosted service from just their SLA and their promises, especially if their financial model is shaky.

WordPress Plugin Competition

The WordPress Plugin Competition is rapidly headed towards a fantastic close. If you were planning on entering a plugin, get registered on the Plugin Competition Blog and post your entry there. Remember, in order to be considered as an entry into the competition, you have to post an entry on the blog and send in the final code to me via email by July 31st. Some fantastic entries have already been released for the competition and we have about $1000 in cash and other cool sponsored prizes. Thanks to all the sponsors and the donors. There is still time to throw in a few bucks to help sweeten the pot (look for the ChipIn Widget). I have also added a rating feature for the entries on the Competition Blog. If you have not rated your favorite plugins, head over to the Plugin Competition Blog and help decide the best plugins. […]

Blogging, WordPress

WordCamp 2007 starts today (well, there were some festivities yesterday) and since I have to miss it again this year, I hope some visitors record the presentations and provide podcasts for the rest of us. The speakers list includes some pretty cool people that I would have liked to listen to and meet but C’est la Vie. I hear there is going to be some cool schwag as well. If you are at Wordcamp, did you hear or see anything cool? Are you having a good time? Please contact me with reports if you think they are bloggable. Just a word of warning, I am on the road, so response/posting will be slow.

Best uses of Ajax in WordPress Plugins: Ajaxian links back to a Mashable post on the best use of Ajax in a WordPress plugin. The Mashable post is called 30+AJAX Powered WordPress plugins. The plugins are divided into plugins aimed at the blogger and plugins aimed at the reader. The list is nice and GamerZ has a heavy presence in the lsit (as he should). I sparingly use AJAX on this blog beside the rating plugin from GamerZ but that is a personal preference.
