WP plugin: Inline Ajax Instead of redirecting users to another page to read “the rest of the entry” when using the “More” tag in WordPress, use AJAX to display the rest of the entry inline. You can also configure the plugin to display all the comments, comment box and even allow posting of comments without ever navigating away from your front page. Installation is not as simple as drag and drop; it does require modification of some core files.

it’s not a great plugin. it’s called AJAX but the entry/post loads up all over the place inside the browser. definitely not as sophisticated as most ajax scripts out there.

I like the idea of keeping visitors on my home page, thanks for the info about this plugin 🙂

  1. […] Via Weblog Tools Collection, this AJAX plugin from Anthology of Ideas may well work its way into my code over the weekend: …the plugin displays an excerpt of your post (the same way WordPress does when you use the_excerpt or a [!–more–] tag), but rather than making the user go to another page to read the remainder of the post, this plugin uses Ajax to download and display the rest of it when the user clicks a link to read more. Afterwards the post’s content can then be hidden and the user can continue reading your other posts. Similarly the comments and add comment form are downloaded only when the user clicks on the show comments link and can be hidden afterwards. RSS feed for comments on this post TrackBack URI […]
