Popularity comparison of CMS tools: Using Alexa, the author compared drupal.org’s traffic with the traffic of other Free and Open Source content management systems’ websites. Interesting read for those vested in the CMS business.

As promised before, this is the first installment of the SXSW podcasts as recorded graciously by Photomatt. This is the Zeldman Keynote at SXSW Interactive as recorded on Photomatt’s cellphone. I love technology (and thank Photomatt for his troubles)! Photomatt is providing the MP3s from his blog but I am mirroring them here. These are recorded from a cell phone and are not the best of quality, but thats not the point and the quality is good enough to understand what is being said (which IS the point). From what I gather, Photomatt is also going to be recording all of his panels and then some. I will try to mirror all of the podcasts here as well. If you want made me miss SXSW this year, check out my personal blog. 🙂

Ten Reasons Why Blogging is Good For Your Career: Tim Bray makes some very good points in an anecdotal entry to the recent swarm of “blogging at (or about) work is a boo boo” posts. “Oh, I’ve written about that, just google for XYZ and I’m on the top page” Thanks BoingBoing

Read/Write Web: Microsoft’s Web-based RSS Aggregator?: Look here for a working version. Pretty cool beginnings, though notice that it does not work in Firefox. Lots of disclaimers and such on the page but a great find nonetheless.

WP plugin: WP-CaTT This plugin appends a link onto the post’s category listings to the corresponding Technorati Tag page for that category. Oh so many links to click now. I can imagine a blog with ALL of these link, tag and meta creator plugins installed. Link soup anyone? (Though in all fairness, this is a pretty cool extension of the Technorati tag plugin(s) for WordPress)

Anyone know of any podcasts of SXSW conference proceedings? I am sure a bunch of people would like to listen to a few of the panels and I am willing to host the podcasts if any kind soul is willing to record them for us. So if you are going to be attending the 2005 SXSW conference, if it is legal to record the proceedings, you are willing to record the Interactive Panels and you are willing to share them with the world, please leave me a note or send me an email at mark at wltc dot net. Since this is THE interactive media conference of the year, I believe that podcasts of the panels would be well received and widely circulated. PS: I know of the MP3 music downloads already, I am looking specifically for the interactive media panels. PPS: Get a free one day pass to the […]
