Cool Scripts, WordPress Hack

If you have not heard about Klipfolio yet, you need to head over to their site and check it out. I consider it to be an information aggregator on steroids. Though somewhat overdone, flexibility is not lacking in that application. I have written a very small (and simple) script that allows the addition of a “Klip” of your WordPress blog for consumption by the Klipfolio application. Installation is very, very simple and if you already have the Klipfolio application on your computer, just download the Klip for this blog and add it to your Klipfolio. Click here for the WeblogToolsCollection.com Klip. You can download the script here. Instructions to install the script is at the bottom of the script. Please leave comments and suggestions.

Photo Matt >> RSS Bandwidth Usage: Photomatt analyzes the RSS bandwidth debate brought forth by Robert Scoble and provides some real numbers to bolster his suggestion (well, claim really) that “an HTML page with 1/3 the traffic is using over 30 times the bandwidth” than an RSS page.

LIving without a <cfcontinue> tag? Look no further!: I found this while looking for a solution to “continue” within a <cfloop> tag. Basically, just invoke a <cfthrow> (which you ignore) whenever you want to continue to the next iteration of the cfloop tag. Weird, but it works right.

General

After trying out all the entries in the competition, I have decided to use the graphics submitted by Albert Tanutama for weblogtoolscollection.com. The header that you see on top will stay there, albeit with a few modifications. I will be adding the other graphics, favicons etc as soon as I get a chance. Thanks to everyone for participating. Work has been tremendously busy and draining lately which has taken away from my personal work. As a forewarning, this blog might be experiencing some hiccups in the next week or so as I make some internal changes. Thank you for your patience and continued partonage.

hitormiss.org: New & Improved DailyCrawl: A very nice concept of a news crawler. This is an extension of the WordPress built in blogroll. Very useful if you use your own blogroll (in WordPress or otherwise) as a collection of links/blogs that you read everyday. Via: Photomatt

Into the Blogosphere: Some literary exploration into the blogging world. Essays, insight and in depth discussions of the blogosphere. Very good “blog” indeed. Via: SAPN On a side note, I would like to add that I seem to be reblogging a lot of the articles from the Six Apart Professional Network blog. Everyone remotely interested in the blogging world should add that blog to their daily reads; I am truly jealous. Keep up the good work and I promise I will make a conscious effort to reblog less of your work.
