Due to popular request, here is a hack to post directly from FeedDemonto WordPress 1.2 Mingus. For this you would have to be logged into your blog admin portion (a previous login with the cookie set will do just fine).
Here is the hack.
Some of the new features of this hack include:
- Post to a category like news or links
- Choose a WordPress user in your Feeddemon setup
- Choose post and comment status for your posts
- Use proper attribution for your linkage
For those of you that are not aware, Feeddemon is a popular news reader for the Windows platform and nloaded for a trial period. This hack enables you to choose a news item from your list inside Feeddemon and either through shortcut keys or through a menu choice, post the news item directly to your blog with the proper linkage without any needed intervention. This is a dandy way to create a rich linkblog.
Thanks! π
It posts, but I get this error: Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /hotel/blangstrup_org/WWW/wp-includes/template-functions-category.php on line 65
http://my.domain.name/wordpres.....b2edit.php –> shouldn’t it be post.php, since b2edit.php doesn’t exist in Mingus?
and this error, too: Fatal error: Call to undefined function: ljautoupdate() in /hotel/blangstrup_org/WWW/wp-admin/post.php on line 125
the fatal error is what turns up in MIE when you post from FeedDemon. The Warning is in the line above the post itself. It pΓΒ³sts alright, but with this error.
Ok. This needs to be looked at again. Sorry about the mess, the functions are from my own install. Look for the solution tomorrow night.
Thanks for your patience.
Should be fixed now. Just re-apply the code or remove the line with ljautoupdate in it. Sorry for the trouble.
The readme is fixed with the b2edit as well. Thanks for pointing that out.
Yes! Hurrah! It’s working. Awesome! Thank you very much, Mark! π
eh… I posted your article on the hack from FeedDemon to WordPress, and yes, it works, but it seems you’re missing a < and it won't validate:
Some of the new features of this …
…excerpt from: http://weblogtoolscollection.c.....-bradsoft/
The second http is missing a preceding < I think?
I believe it is missing some quotes. If you know how to, just add escaped quotes around the so it looks like
Oh, half my post isn’t there! this is what I get from validating:
Line 56, column 95: an attribute value specification must be an attribute value literal unless SHORTTAG YES is specified
...#8230;excerpt from:
The Validator found an end tag for the above element, but that element is not currently open. This is often caused by a leftover end tag from an element that was removed during editing, or by an implicitly closed element (if you have an error related to an element being used where it is not allowed, this is almost certainly the case). In the latter case this error will disappear as soon as you fix the original problem.
looks like eh what?
Ah, I just downloaded your hack again, and now it’s validating and everything. Thanks, Mark, for your time and patience! π
Thank you for being patient as well! π

Maybe, just maybe you could make the url have at title or a “here” instead of making the whole url visible, if you understand what I mean? You’ll have to edit it every time it’s one of those long, amazon ones. π
