  3. DemoGeek (1 comments.) says:

Thanks for the news. Do you know how long the promotion would be?

  4. Alice (1 comments.) says:

Excellent! iv already put it to use :D

  5. joseph (1 comments.) says:

thanks for this code, just got my new domain! ;)

  6. danu (3 comments.) says:

it is dot com domain registration ?

  7. Travis (1 comments.) says:

The website says you must have a non-domain purchase :(

Too bad. I wanted to snatch nonsensical domains that I have no plans for whatsoever. :)

  8. Cristi (1 comments.) says:

Thanks! Got my self a new domain name!
    Cheers!

  9. Leland (16 comments.) says:

@Travis: That other $1.99 deal is unrelated to this coupon code. You just choose a domain name and type the code in at checkout.

Anyway, I just used the code and it works fine. I believe it only works once per account though.

  10. Mac Apps (1 comments.) says:

I wish I new about this code yesterday. I could have save loads.

  11. Jenn says:

    Wow, that’s an awesome deal!

  12. Mark Fulton (2 comments.) says:

Can anyone confirm this is no longer working?

  13. Mark Fulton (2 comments.) says:

AHH.. I just figured out you can only use this ONCE for one SINGLE domain. :( Lame.

  14. X says:

Why are you promoting GoDaddy? They have a horrible service… just horrible. Try to leave and they won’t ever let you. Don’t be suckered into buying crap for $2 when you can go with a good registrar for just a few dollars more at most. We’re talking about the cost of a cup of coffee FOR A YEAR… is such a deal really necessary?

  15. Cigar Inspector (6 comments.) says:

Just used it. Yeah, one domain per account only.
    Thanks!

  16. Charles Peng (1 comments.) says:

    Only 1.99 usd/yr for a domain, it’s so cheap.

  17. Ehsan (2 comments.) says:

Thanks for infi , i am gonna go and try right now cheers !

  18. Pi (1 comments.) says:

And what are the follow up costs?

  19. Missy (from G34 Media) (1 comments.) says:

Go Daddy? No thanxs! I will stick with Namecheap, they charge more but are not as annoying as GoDaddy. Good deal, but bad company.

  20. Jeff A (3 comments.) says:

Thanks for the info, put it to good use myself.

  21. Bradley (1 comments.) says:

Fantastic! Thanks for the deal! Just set up a client for $1.99. They kept asking me where the catch was, though … but I don’t think there’s a catch. It’s just a deal.

  22. Herit Shah (1 comments.) says:

    purchased heritshah.com for just $2!! i cant believe……
    thanks again.

  23. Shantanu Goel (10 comments.) says:

How do they manage this? I heard it costs ATLEAST 6$ to register a domain name for any registrar..

  24. Flash (3 comments.) says:

    Ok, 1.99$ just used it.

  25. Ganesh (1 comments.) says:

    I still can’t believe even though I purchased a domain for $2. :P

    Anyway, thanks a lot.

  26. ashish choudhary (1 comments.) says:

what about after one year , same price or 10 $ per year

  27. Brands-and-Jingles says:

Yes, they do this for some time already for .into.

However, be careful, this is first year price only. Afterwards, they are more expensive than other registrars.

Besides, GoDaddy provides the privacy option for extra price. If you need this one – you will end paying more than some.where-el.se.

I was buying at GoDaddy and transferring to my BlueHost to get the free privacy. But it is tiring if you have 1000+ domains in your portfolio.

  28. ranyliq (1 comments.) says:

GD offering this long time ago, but when i want to write it,the code expired, so, the code working again now :)
BTW, Just wanna tell something for mr.x and missy from g34 media, if u dont like GD service, than reg it only, then transfer it to your favor registrant after 60 days. $2 buck still amazing man ;)

  29. leefe (4 comments.) says:

(I tried to submit this comment the other day, but it seems to have got lost in the ether somewhere.)

$1.99, with a cravat: “For all new $ current customers with any new, non-domain purchase! No quantity limit!**”

ie. You have to pay them more money to get charged less for the domain. And the discount is only less for the first year.

Hook them with the appearance of a small price, offer a few extras, and real in the big catch.

Read the report Who’s Your Go Daddy? at CNN Money, or just scroll down and read the ‘Better service’ section.

  30. Of-Cour.se! (2 comments.) says:

Just talk to my executive manager at GoDaddy. They will probably keep it. Although, it is only one domain per account. If you play nomber – too much of a hustle to go there and back. Nice marketing trick, don’t you think? Give something cheap, sell a lot for more ;)

  31. jajo says:

i think the password doesn’t work now – just checked. anyone?

  32. Of-Cour.se! (2 comments.) says:

Jajo: you can order only one domain per account. If you want more, use another email and another account – but this will be a hustle. Besides, GoDaddy may check that you are using the same credit card… Really, all you are saving is four dollars in the first year. There is not free cheese down there for free.

  33. David (1 comments.) says:

It doesn’t work unless you purchase another non-domain product. This is so not worth it. The monthly fee is higher than what you save….

  34. George (1 comments.) says:

Mhm, Doesn’t appear to be working anymore. Not to worry, I got my fair share :)
And the people knocking GoDaddy – why? Their hosting sucks, but I’ve found their domain services to be pretty good, and I’ve never wanted to leave. I’m in the process of transferring most of my large portfolio of domains to them..

  2. […] GoDaddy, the domain registrar we often use, has a $1.99 special right now. The trick to registering with GoDaddy is to ignore all the extra junk they try to sell you after you start the checkout process. Look for links or buttons that say “No, thanks” or “Continue with checkout.” Caveat: if you don’t have a PO Box and you don’t want your address and phone number becoming public, you might want to add private registration. The default price for dot.com domain names is $9.99 per year which surprisingly includes some free basic hosting and one domain based email address in the bargain.
