  1. For this batch of theme releases, Keesheep is a funny yet pretty cool looking design. R3volution continued looks like you need a 5 million candle power flashlight to view the content on it and the YG Desire theme looks pretty good.

    My favorite this time: Keesheep

  2. Its pretty sad that WLTC continuously releases pretty lame themes, themes that look like they were designed in 1999, especially when there are so many well designed themes out there and submitted to the news section.
Not talking specifically about this release but the quality in general.

  3. Srik,

No offenses but I cover all the themes that are submitted to the news sections. It is not for me to decide which themes are good or which themes are bad, you users have the option to do so.

My job is to cover the hardwork of the WordPress community and showcase it to the users. In that sense my job is not biased and most of the themes I have covered are really good and appreciated by users.

As a note of caution I do not cover themes which are sponsored or look like they are sponsored.

    Thanks
    Keith

  4. look harder my friend, don’t waste the awesome power vested in you by releasing forgettable themes…. just my opinion… :)

    Srik — 05/13/2008 @ 1:37 am
  5. Thanks for the post Keith. YG Desire looks like it could be customized nicely. Keesheep has nice colors, but I think YG wins for me this time. Sorry Jeffro.

  6. I second Srik

  11. Automatic: We do use quite a few, don’t we? However, in spite of our stats craziness, if you ever feel that any (or all) of them are taking away from your user experience or is taking too long to load, please let us know so we can remove them from the blog.

Srik: We appreciate your input and I agree with Keith that our theme posts are representative of the themes being developed and not dependent on our particular choices. If you ever feel like we missed a theme or find one that you think should show up on our theme posts, please send us an email (or send a bunch of links in a single email, whatever works for you) and we will add it to our list. As long as the themes adhere to our community standards, we will be glad to feature them.

  12. True Colours, and the other themes at gg.co.uk are lovely, and well crafted as well.

  13. I wish you would include “fluid or fixed” as part of the main description here…

    dan Mc — 05/13/2008 @ 10:25 am
  14. Thanks! I’ll take it all.

    WebTager (18 comments.) — 05/13/2008 @ 10:59 am
  15. Thanks mark, for the reassurance… but promoting/releasing a theme from a known scumbag/thief is a slap across the faces of all the theme designers. You know who i am talking abt….

    Srik — 05/13/2008 @ 3:52 pm
  16. Keith, what do you mean by themes that “look like they are sponsored” ?

    pendra — 05/13/2008 @ 4:24 pm
  17. I think that most theme designers are falling short when it comes to bottom and upper parts of the themes. The vast majority of themes are either 100% width with one or two rows in the upper part. Same for bottom.

I’m still looking for a theme that better suit my tastes, but thanks for the timely updates on themes.

    Regards.

  18. The Corporate theme is based on the Collaboration theme by FreeWPThemes.net. see it in action at http://www.freewpthemes.net/preview/collaboration

    Thanks

  19. samirkamble’s whole site is full of themes balantly stolen from freewpthemes and wltc continuously releases his themes.

    Srik — 05/14/2008 @ 1:47 pm
  20. Srik,

Thanks for the information, we will definitely take care not to include such themes in future. Also if you have any complaints or feel that a site is using stolen themes or other complaints feel free to contact us and we will take note of the issue.

Your contribution will definitely help us grow better.

    Thanks
    Keith

  21. As far as I can tell, WLTC doesn’t release any themes at all. We merely post about themes that have been released by those in the community. Yes, WLTC does have a set of rules we abide by before featuring such newly released themes, but there is a difference between reporting on theme releases and actually releasing themes.

  22. bad bad english, release = feature :)

    Srik — 05/14/2008 @ 2:51 pm
  23. Completely understandable Srik. And thanks for pointing out some hanky panky theme authors.

    Jeff Chandler (159 comments.) — 05/14/2008 @ 3:37 pm
  24. We all like different themes.. it doesn’t mean that if a theme does not look good for you everybody agrees to that. and the way this site feature themes as long as it adheres to their rules is just fine the way it is.. i think its awesome that the theme releases here isn’t biased.

  25. I agree with ChiQ Montes, its pretty subjective matters.
