Blogosphere contracting? Assuming that both Sifry and Umbria are accurate and that these growth rates are remaining constant - the non-spam Blogosphere has peaked in size and is now contracting. Are we really losing real bloggers to spam blogs?

A flawed analysis of trends in the number of blogs, and the increase in the number of spam blogs, has lead people to think that the number of non-spam blogs is falling. In fact the growth trends remain strong.
