Broken links Remover wordpress plugin helps you fix bad/broken links, both text links(anchor tags) and image links (img tags). It blocks the display of such links on your wordpress post/page, until you fix them. These links would not be visible to search engine robots as well as the human readers, until you correct them.

Links are very commonly used in posts/pages. Quite often, these links may get broken when a page, that the link represents, is deleted or when a site to which you have linked has moved to a different domain or when a subdirectory is forgotten or for any other reasons including a typo.

Broken links, on your site, are bad for your readers as well as the search engine crawlers.
How is Broken links remover different from several broken link checker tools available on the web?

Broken links remover does not scan through all your posts/pages in the background. It works as and when the requestor (human reader or search engine robot) requests a post/page on your wordpress site. However, once a link has been detected as bad/broken, Broken links remover plugin does not check the link’s status again, until you fix it.

Broken links remover plugin not only alerts you of bad/broken links through dashboards but it also removes(hides) those links from the requestor’s view

Broken links remover can either use CURL or PHP’s native socket functionalities (FSOCKOPEN) to detect link’s status, as some hosts disable the use of FSOCKOPEN or CURL.

While Platinum SEO Plugin helps you automate the onsite SEO (search engine optimization) process, Broken links Remover Wordpress Plugin complements it by automatically removing/hiding all bad/broken links on your website, until you fix them.

This plugin helps in making the web cleaner. This plugin also helps you link to the final destination, in case the website to whom you have linked to uses a 301 (permanent) redirection.Eventually you are helping him out, by linking to the page to which he has moved the content.Find out why broken links are bad for both your readers and search engines at my site.

Dodo is a Wordpress plugin that helps you personalize your blog homepage.

Dodo system tracks user actions on your blog (post reading, searches, comments) and gives a widget-based view to your users, proposing related posts, giving you -the blogger- an overview of what’s hot in your blog. Blogger and users are able to select what actions will be tracked and which widgets (and in what order) will be shown in the personalized view, having the option to switch off the whole view, in one click.

Blogger has also the ability to know every time he/she writes a story, which are the “hot” tags and the most interesting category on his blog, based on the records from post/search tracking, in order to come up with more interesting stories.

Dodo admin interface gives blogger the possibility to watch in real time, how tracking goes, edit widget css and track the 5 hottest tags / categories / searches.

You can read more about Dodo in this explanatory pdf and you can download it from here.

Role Scoper is a comprehensive drop-in enrichment for WordPress content permissions. Broaden or narrow reading, editing or administrative access to selected users or groups on a page-specific, category-specific or other content-specific basis.

Existing WordPress roles and anonymous reading capabilities are honored by default, but with Role Scoper can be:

supplemented with content-specific role assignment

disregarded if a section (category) or object (page/post) is marked exclusive

Scoped role requirements and assignments are reflected in every aspect of the WordPress interface, from front end content and navigation to administrative post and comment totals. Content administrators control who can view/edit/administer specified content, and what content anonymous users see.

Section and object roles can be set to propagate to child sections/objects. Create User Groups and assign roles to them. Choose whether unqualified front-end content is hidden or replaced with a customizable teaser. The object role assignment UI (a new tab in the Post/Page edit form) indicates where users have a role implicitly applied through another blog, section or object role assignment.

RSS output and XML-RPC editing also follow your scoped role assignments and requirements. Template functions are available to allow themes to format exclusive content and teasers distinctively. An extensive plugin API allows other plugins to define their own data sources, sections, capabilities and roles.

Role Scoper had its first public release on May 15th and has recently passed 1100 downloads. In these 2 months, the plugin has benefited greatly from an enthusiastic early core of users whose feedback has allowed me to flush out lots of bugs through 18 beta revisions. Role Scoper is not an easily documented set of useful new features, but a new layer underlying all your content editing and delivery. Some have found all the new knobs a little overwhelming. But if you really want to push for sophisticated access control or collaborative editing, there are some early success stories that might persuade you to take the plunge.

Does it seem strange to you that pages have a nice, intuitive way to apply various themes to them and categories don’t? Would you like to have a way for posts to be styled based on their category? I did on more than a couple of occasions. So for my entry into this contest I decided to make a plugin that would solve these two problems. All plugin details are available at the Idealien Category Enhancements (ICE) home page.

The first place I tried the plugin out was to create a set of AJAX-based category / post views for a client project (blacksmith artist photo gallery). The code for that is not yet “clean enough” that I feel comfortable sharing it, but looking at that site might give you a hint of the potential that this plugin offers. As I was creating that fast loading photo gallery, I realized that I may have unlocked another small piece of the ‘Can Wordpress become a fully-featured CMS?’. This plugin could allow one installation of Wordpress to be any / all of the following:

An event calendar and each category is a different calendar type.
Each post takes you to a detailed view of the date with event details.

Photo Gallery

Multi-level / genre portfolio with extensive use of custom fields.

Contact list

Product database

etc

Looking at some of the other plugins that are part of the contest, at first glance my plugin might not seem that incredible. But I’d ask that the judges consider what a theme designer with bold vision could design as a result of using this plugin which could not be done as easily without. By integrating the template into the manage > categories menu, it brings consistency to the template process of categories, posts and pages.

With Tabbed Widgets plugin you can easily create tab and accordion style widgets without writing a single line of code or editing the theme files. Place any of the existing widgets inside a tabbed interface, set random start tab on each page reload and even automatically rotate the widget content in a set time interval.

If your blog’s sidebar suffers from a widget overdose then Tabbed Widgets is the solution for clearing up the clutter and getting it all organized.

Download & Demo

Download the Tabbed Widgets plugin from WordPress Extend.

See it in action on my blog Konstruktors Notes.

View the demonstration screencast.

Accordion and Classic Horizontal Tabs

There are two tab style to choose from: tabs and accordion. If you enable tab rotation, accordion style tabs will automatically pause the rotation when the reader hovers the widget and will resume rotation when mouse leaves the tabbed widget block. Such behavior makes the rotation feature user friendly and unobtrusive, while giving the tabbed content maximum exposure.

Tabbed Widget Configuration

These are the configuration options for each of the tabbed widgets. Simply select an existing widget from a drop-down menu and specify the tab title. Automatic rotation and random start tab settings can be set individually for each of the tabbed widgets.

Comments and Feedback

If you experience any problems please post them in the comments and provide the URL of the website.

Keep in mind that the way tabs are rendered and look depends on the theme you are using, its CSS identifiers and sidebar widget settings. However the solution is usually a few extra lines of CSS that you have to add to
style.css
file.

If you’ve given up the low-paying and slightly obtrusive ad networks used by many new bloggers, in favor of selling ads directly, you may have been frustrated with the excessive time involved managing your ads. Not only do you have to find advertisers to sponsor your blog, you have to manually edit your template to put the ad in, and then head over to your favorite calendar app to set an alert to remind you when to take the ad down.

Time consuming practices like those are a thing of the past. The WP125 plugin can help you manage your ads more efficiently, leaving you with more time to write new posts. The plugin adds a new “Ads” menu to the WordPress admin, featuring submenus for tweaking display settings and adding and removing ads.

Features include:

One or two column ad display, and support through template tags to implement your own unconventional design.

Show as many ads as you want, and in either manual or random order

Keep track of how many times an ad is clicked

When creating a new ad, you don’t have to calculate the end date yourself. Just input how many days you wish the ad to run for, and the correct date will be applied. The ad will be automatically taken down when the time comes.

When an ad run is over, the record is archived on the Inactive ads screen, so you can check on the final click count, or revive the ad for another run.

The Vent events system allows you to use the standard WordPress scheduled posts functionality to enter, list and manage future events.

The administrator can setup the criteria that the Vent system uses to identify an Event. This enables you to continue to enter scheduled posts into WordPress (and more importantly, for them to function exactly as before) whilst still using the new Event functionality.

The simplest of criteria is to mark any events with a distinct category or tag, alternatively you can use any combination of the settings shown above, including looking for a string at the start of a post title (such as “Event:”).

Viewing Events

There are two widgets included with the plugin. One to show the next event and one to list the upcoming events (up to 15), in addition the plugin can add the next event to the top of your home page.

Event Lists

The plugin adds a number of URL permalinks to your system that will allow you and your users to view events taking place over a certain period of time (such as next week or next month). These can be set up within the options of the plugin.

Yank Widget is my meager entry for the competition this year and is available from WordPress Extend: Yank Widget.

Yank Widget allows the placement of page content in sidebar widgets for different pages or posts. It uses WordPress pages for the content and Yank Widgets are set when editing a specific post or page. Yank Widget also allows you to hide these pages so that content used in a Yank Widget will not be shown in your website menus or page lists.

Features

Use multiple Yank Widgets to add secondary static content for individual posts and pages.

Hide pages used as Yank Widget content from menus and page lists.

Hide or change Yank Widget title, or use selected page title.

Uses separate database table for easy Yank Widget plugin deinstallation.

I started working on Yank Widget because of constant requests from users and clients for “static yet dynamic” sidebar content. Usually this required customized themes, but that isn’t very flexible. I was very surprised that I could not find a WordPress plugin with similar functionality, so feel free to correct me!

You will actually find an example of a Yank Widget on the Yank Widget Project page and the Using Yank Widget Page.

Ironically this is an election year in the United States, but similarities to geographically centric derogatory slang is pure coincidence.

I’ve created this plugin due to lots of people asking for this functionality from my QuickShop plugin. My QuickShop plugin actually does provide subscriptions via Express Checkout but this is a much better solution.

Announcing a NEW PLUGIN from Zack Design!

Paypal API Subscriptions is designed to allow your users to register on your blog and subscribe all at once. The Paypal API keeps them on your blog and means that you simply have to skin the Wordpress Admin to suit your site theme. Because it is fully integrated with Wordpress you can keep track of your users easily and effectively.

This plugin defaults to the Paypal Sandbox for test results so you can test it for yourself.

Features:

Subscription button shortcode tags for your posts

Use your Paypal API credentials

Integrates with Wordpress registration seamlessly

Use a Wordpress Admin Theme to make the user transition completely transparent!

Adheres to all Paypal Guidelines and Requirements

Uses Wordpress-supplied error checking in the registration form for both transactions and fields! This means no registered users by accident.

Wordpress-MU compatibility!

List of possible future features:

Ability to cancel subscriptions directly inside Wordpress

Further Paypal Profile changes

Additional subscription stuff like initial payment and trials

Flickr Gallery gives you a simple way to insert your Flickr photos and videos into your blog. I’ve utilized WordPress 2.5’s shortcodes to make this as easy as possible. The very simplest of short codes I’ve created is [flickr-gallery]. It creates a generic gallery with your photos.

In addition, I created a short tag that will insert a single photo or embed the flash video player. It’s designed to let you specify the photo size and whether it floats left or right (or not at all). For example, simply entering the code [flickr size="small" float="left"]2619634627[/flickr] (you can also use the full photo page’s URL) will create a result that looks a little something like this:

There are also options to display photos by tag, photosets, or even showing the results of an arbitrary search. You can find the details of all of the extra options over on the WordPress Extend page for the plugin which is, coincidentally where you can download the plugin to try it out for yourself.

Here is my first plugin I’ve created for WordPress. It is a simple click tracking plugin. It allows you to select pages and posts to track through the Manage Post & Manage Pages Sections of the dashboard. You can then where on each link the user click, and by color see what browser they were using, the time of day, the day of the week, and day of the month.

The plugin requires the end visitor to have javascript enabled. Besides that, it has the same requirements as WordPress.

WordPress Click Tracking Plugin Download

I hope this plugin help to create better web pages by showing where visitors click. As of now it only gives a visual view of the clicks, but will hopefully have other features in the future. Here is an example of what it looks like:

I am announcing Snazzy Archives, plugin specially developed to display WordPress archives in a unique visual way. The idea comes from this page and people from a popular micro-blogging platform Tumblr have used it on their blogs as well.

I created the plugin and the main classes and you can see how it all looks live on WordPress in the following examples:

Example Layout 1

Example Layout 2

These are outputs directly from the plugin and happen automatically without any intervention on user’s behalf.

If you have Firebug installed you can play with CSS as much as you want. There are a lot of styling opportunities. Please send your feedback on the layouts here or on my blog.

I am hoping to finish the plugin in time for the competition

FlareSmith is a plugin to integrate the FeedBurner Stats and FeedFlare services into your WordPress site - all without having to edit any of your theme files!

It acts as a content filter, and adds the required javascript to your site after the output of your original content. It plays well with others (like other content filters), and works quite nicely with the FeedBurner FeedSmith plugin. In fact, I choose the name of my plugin as an homage to FeedSmith.

Options Page:

The plugin is available here, and is also hosted at the WordPress Plugins Database - to take advantage of the new plugin upgrade functionality in 2.5.

Enjoy and Vote for this plugin!

This is a simple plugin to allow for access-restricted posting, allowing bloggers to discuss sensitive subjects without Google or the world finding the post.

After activation, an administration panel is added to your “Users” tab, allowing you to create user groups. The creation of user groups is completely optional, although it does make things a little easier.

Also upon activation, a section is added to the post creation and editing screen. This section allows you to specify which users or groups have access to the post. Setting any access restrictions here forces the post to be listed as “private” in WordPress, so you don’t have to worry about forgetting to hide a sensitive post.

Users may be members of multiple groups. Multiple groups and multiple individual users may be allowed to view each post. Overlaps are ignored — if the user is a member of any group that is allowed to view the post, that user will be able to view it.

For more information and to download the plugin, check out out the WP Sentry Homepage.

If you have one or more blogs, it’s a rather tedious task to make backups and upgrades. Still, these are among the most important tasks of a blog admin. MultiSiteManager is a new plugin which will handle both backups and upgrades, and it will do this for any number of WordPress blogs!

I think it is fair to say that this plugin is a great step ahead in the security of the WordPress blogosphere: With MSM, one person can keep in charge for many other blogs — e.g. secondary blogs, friends’ blogs, customers’ blogs.

How does it work? After adding FTP information for your sites, you can go to the main panel and start backups and upgrades for all your sites — from one screen:

You can choose to backup files and/or the database of the remote blog. With “files”, all WordPress files of the remote WP installation are fetched and zipped. With “database”, all WordPress tables (tables with your $table_prefix) are dumped and zipped. As for the upgrade, you can choose to install the latest or any other WP version.

The plugin doesn’t have too many fancy gimmicks, although it has a couple of little features which will let you see that this is a work of quality. The most important thing was to create a very stable piece of software, which runs many tests and is prepared for many situations. So that *if* the slightest thing goes wrong, no harm is done. This is also, why much effort went into proper events logging and output — so you will have a detailed overview of what happens with your precious blogs.

Download and enjoy MultiSiteManager!

Live Blogroll will make your blogroll livelier. It will show a number of ‘recent posts’ for each link in your Blogroll using Ajax.

When the user hovers the mouse above the link, RSS feed from the site is automatically discovered and a number of recent posts is shown dynamically in a box.

Live Blogroll uses internal caching for feed discovery and WordPress caching for RSS feeds to make sure everything is smooth.
