Rich Related Posts plugin facilitates related posts functionality where posts can be enriched with groups of links to blog posts (or other sites), defined by headline and thumbnail.

RRP is a powerful CMS solution to quickly and easily create multiple groups of rich related content with images using tools such as combination search/entry fields and element units consisting of headline + permalink + image url. Shortcode can be instantly inserted into posts, and can even be used in sidebar text widgets.

Why Use the Rich Related Posts Solution?

You need to be able to locate content and present it to visitors on your site with images and links back to your posts, pages as well as even other sites. But it can be difficult and require a lot of trial and error to get complex layouts of images and text to come out looking right. Sometimes it’s next to impossible to get something published looking like you need it to without it slipping around and getting compromised switching back and forth between the HTML and visual editors. Locating Content:

RRP simplifies the process of searching for content and entering the elements of the data. RRP virtually eliminates the need to manually copy and paste URLs from your browser’s URL field into WordPress. The same goes for tracking down images within the WordPress admin and Media Library — most specifically when it comes to thumbnail images associated with posts. You no longer need to drill into a post to copy and paste the image URL. You don’t even need to drill into the WP Media Library either. Instead, combination search/data-entry fields go directly to archive to provide a list of links.

Entering Content:

When you click on a link from the Rich Related Posts search results page, both the post’s url as well as the associated post thumbnail url are automatically entered together to become part of a single RRP ELEMENT. The last component is the ELEMENT’s custom HEADLINE which you type in — now you’ve created a contained unit of data that represents your single piece of content.

Repeat the steps up to 10 ELEMENTS until you’ve got a group of RICH RELATED POSTS.

Publishing Content:

Insert the shortcode into your post and RRP handles the layout. No more messing around trying to get a layout of images and graphic to hold in place. RRP locks your display and presents it just the way you want it as per the RRP TEMPLATE you have customized specifically for your site.

Rich Related Posts Editor and Walk-Through

While on any WP edit post page, find the Rich Related Posts EDITOR in your center column where you can create up to ten groups.

When editing a new group or an existing one, you add and edit elements within the group. Elements consist of :

HEADLINE
POST URL
IMAGE URL

Each field is a combination search and data entry field, so enter a search term…oh, say Jack Johnson…

…and click the magnifying glass next to the field.

When you click on a link, the POST and IMAGE URLs are automatically entered into the fields.

Manually enter HEADLINE text and create more elements until you have completed your group. Name the group and save.

Click on the INSERT CODE button to automatically place the shortcode into your post, i.e.
“[ richrelatedpost id=10 ]”

If importing pages, the directory hierarchy will be preserved. Directories containing the specified file types will be imported as empty parent pages. Directories that do not contain the specified file types will be ignored.

As files are imported, the resulting IDs, permalinks, and titles will be displayed. On completion, the importer will provide a list of Apache redirects that can be used in your .htaccess file to seamlessly transfer visitors from the old file locations to the new WordPress posts or pages.

The admin settings area is aimed at an administrator, who will can alter, or  setup more  reports for less skilled editors or website managers.

Configured User listings for editors

The first field of each listing will offer a link to edit that user.

The fields you see listed will vary depending on the plugins that you have in use, and on the meta data that the plugins may have created.  In the Screenshots you will some data from subscribe 2, register plus and your members plugins.

The count thus fetched can be displayed in the sidebar of your blog using a sidebar widget provided by the Plugin.

You can also allow users to subscribe to email alerts like, “alert me after x number of people has come online”.

Features

The following are the major features of Tweetbacks Helper Plugin.

It can replace the Pseudo cron scheduler by Tweetbacks and with its own scheduler. This scheduler which can be invoked by pinging a url, fetches posts in the batch of 50 and tries to retrieve tweets for them. This way the twitter API is not misused and at the same time server load is also reduced.

The following screenshot shows the settings page in the admin console.

This Plugin also lists the short urls detected by Tweetbacks and allows you to add your own short urls if you are using your own url shortening service. See the following screenshot where the short urls are listed in the write post page.

Translation

The .pot file is available with the Plugin. If you are willing to do translation for the Plugin, use the .pot file to create the .po files for your language and let me know. I will add it to the Plugin after giving credit to you.

 The idea came about when developing a membership website that used subscribe2 and “your members”.

Usage:

[user] will look first for user short name, then display name, or nick name, or username, or a default specified (eg: Reader) if nothing else can be used
[user user_email] will replace the text with the email address if logged in etc

It also allows you to customise the sender email address that wordpress uses to send the emails, as well as the sender name.

Future releases hope to allow one to personalise with more user fields, included those buried in meta data objects.  This may be useful in membership sites where one may want to reflect data such as expiry dates and membership types currently stored as objects in the user meta data.

The Plugin caches the posts of each widget separately, and issues database queries only when needed. This will reduce the amount of database queries involved for each page load and will therefore be light on your server.

Features

Posts By Tag Plugin provides a sidebar widget which can be configured to display posts from a set of tags in the sidebar. You can have multiple widgets with different set of tags configured for each one of them.

Each widget allows you to choose

• The set of tags whose posts should be displayed

With this plugin, you can create widgets that only display on the pages you want, without needing to create many different widget regions.

All you do is enter a list of pages to include or exclude. You can use wildcards to match a certain series of posts or pages. The Widget Block plugin even supports PHP code. The plugin is meant to be simple, and I hope it saves users from having to create region after region. Hopefully something similar will make it into WordPress core.

Usage: Once you activate the plugin, go into Appearance > Widgets. You’ll see a new “Block” item under “Available Widgets”. Drag this item into the region of your choice. That’s it!

WP-Announcements provides two announcement options:

1. A customizable marquee that displays an assigned post title linked to that actual post. The marquee can be displayed by calling the php function wp_announce_marquee() anywhere in your theme, using the WP-Announce-Marquee Widget or using the Shortcode [wp_announce_marquee] anywhere in your post or page content.
2. A popup window using ShadowBox-JS or ThickBox that displays the title and content of an assigned announcement post. The popup will only show up once for each website visitor per active popup post as a cookie is created. You can also set a popup window for each time a website member logs into the admin dashboard.

WP-Announcements activates checkboxes on the add/edit post page to allow easy assignment of announcement posts. An admin page under the settings tab is also included to toggle announcements on or off and to manage all posts saved as announcements for easy retrieval and reuse of reoccurring announcements in the future.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why isn’t any of this plugins functionality working?

You likely have Javascript disabled or you are using a browser that doesn’t support Javascript. This plugin requires Javascript to function.

Why do I not have Ajax Delete or Ajax Upgrade links?

In order for these links to show up WordPress has to determine if PHP can perform the necessary file system level tasks without prompting for FTP or SSH/SFTP login information. See Editing wp-config.php and Using SSH to Install/Upgrade for information on configuring WordPress to not prompt you for this information.

Why can’t I use the Ajax functions on the Ajax Plugin Helper itself?

Using the Ajax Plugin Helper to perform the functions provided by the plugin would cause several things to break since it would become deactivated before it could perform all of its required functions. Because of this you will not have Ajax links added to the Ajax Plugin Helper plugin.

Does this plugin work with WordPress Mu?

Yes. Just place it in wp-content/plugins. Please note that it does not yet add an Ajax Activate Site Wide link yet. The Activate Site Wide links will just operate just as it did before.

Restyling your menu

Unlike other menu plugins for WordPress, this one allows you to totally restyle your menu to look however you want, but you never need to touch a line of code to do it. You can totally restyle your menu and rearrange the menu contents all within your WordPress installation via an easy to use interface.

The editing panel used to restyle the design of your menu. You can change colours, text sizes, boldness, italics, use graphics or even add a smooth shadow effect to dropdown menus all from the easy to use interface.

The editor system operates from your own site, but behind the scenes it sends your design preferences back to the PixoPoint server for processing. The required CSS data is then sent back to your WordPress install for it to be used in your menu. When you save your design, that CSS is saved into your WordPress database. The plugin only needs to access the PixoPoint server if you choose to modify the design in the future.

Arranging menu items

You can choose from a selection of different menu items to include in your menu, from Pages to Categories, Blog posts or even a search box can all be added to your menu via an easy to use drag and drop interface in the plugins admin page. For those of you looking for the ultimate control, you can even choose one of the custom code boxes to insert whatever HTML code you wish. For those using the Pages option, you can rearrange your WordPress Pages via another simple drag and drop interface under the ‘Advanced’ tab in the plugins admin page.

Installation

Upload the complete pixopoint-menu folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory OR install it via the WordPress plugin repository browser

1. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
2. Either: Add <?php if(function_exists(‘pixopoint_menu’)) {pixopoint_menu();} ?> to your theme wherever you want the menu to appear (usually your header.php file) or choose the ‘Auto theme support’ option in the plugins admin panel (works with Hybrid, Thematic, Thesis and many other popular WordPress themes).
3. Visit the “PixoPoint Menu” page in your WordPress settings menu and control how the menu behaves via the plethora of different options
4. Click the ‘Load editor’ button in the plugins admin page to modify the design via the easy to use editing panel

The simple to use One-Time Password plugin enables you to login to your WordPress weblog using passwords which are valid for one session only. One-time passwords prevent stealing of your main WordPress password in less trustworthy environments, like internet cafés, for example by keyloggers. For each login you can choose between using your main password or a one-time password. The one-time password system conforms to RFC 2289 of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF).

Version 2.0 of this plugin has a new option to protect administrative actions by one-time passwords. This option is disabled by default and only available when you logged-in with a one-time password. It is possible to define exceptions. The default exceptions are viewing the dashboard, adding a post (but not saving it) and logging out.

This is my first attempt at creating a WordPress plugin. Hopefully til next years plugin competition my skills will have improved enough to create something “bigger”. 

Easy ReTweet uses easy retweet JavaScript library created by John Resig and is based on Bit.ly JavaScript API.

Plugin Usage

You can download the Plugin from the Plugin’s home page. There are three ways you can add the retweet button, the automatic way, manual way and using shortcodes.

Automatic way

Install the Plugin and choose the type and position of the button from the Plugin’s settings page.

Manual way

If you want more control over the way the button should be positioned, then you can manually call the button using the following code.

Using Shortcodes

You can also place the shortcode [easy-retweet] anywhere in your post. This shortcode will be replaced by the button when the post is rendered.
