1)Yes the option will soon be introduced.
2) The plugin supports curl and fsockopen.so if curl is not there it will continue to run with fsockopen.If neither can’t be run, then a warning is displayed when you setup the plugin and the plugin does not work.

Good potential but no cigar. Things that should be fixed/changed.

1) Removing the links should be optional.

2) It should check for curl on activation, and deactivate itself if it’s not available (with a message why).

I’d love to see this work but it broke my blog with a Fatal error because it requires Curl.

Looks like it has the potential for being very helpful but it needs some work. There’s something wrong with the MySQL syntax – it filled my error logs up with errors from both the SELECT and INSERT INTO queries. Also it’s a little difficult to tell from the logs alone, but it seems to have tried to mark all the “mailto:” links as 301 errors which seems odd to me.

I’d be happy to provide some bits of logfile privately if you’d like.

Your plugin Broken Links Remover is a good idea. However, it removed the more link in my posts and left the words “Read More” (or whatever I had it set for) Anyway, there was no link to the more link.

I thought you might want to know about this.

Also, in theory, shouldn’t there have been a list of the more links that were removed listed in the Broken Links table? That table was empty.
