  1. With the WordPress Plugin Competition underway, there are many authors searching for ideas for new plugins.

Please use this post to suggest a plugin, so that any interested authors can be inspired :)

  2. It would be nice with a plugin that could detect if a plugin or theme have a readme.txt, and then provide a link to it.
Clicking on the link should show the readme.txt properly formated (just like WP Plugins browser does).

  3. I have a plugin idea I would to suggest.

All post and pages are assigned either categories and tags.

I suggest that this be extended to comments as well.

For example, my most commented post has over 400 comments. They range from reviews to bug notices.

A new reader would be completely over-whelmed if they tried to read all the comments. They may only be interested in seeing the review comments.

I propose a user-defined set of tags for comments on a blog.

In my case they would be something like "Reviews", "General Comments" and "Questions & Answers".

A reader would be able to click a comment tag and view only those comments tagged with that tag for that post.

A commenter would be required to enter one, and only one tag.

I'll explain in more detail if anybody has any questions.

    Thanks for reading.

  4. I'd like to see if some creative soul could revive Structured Blogging, or develop a similar Reviews-oriented plugin. Structured Blogging was great in its day - perfect for all sorts of reviews. It's really sad that the project died.

  5. I’ve been looking for a event management plugin. It will even help wordpress podcamps events. It can have registartion, maximum user limit and a widget to showcase events on frontpage. It can have integration with google chaeckout, paypal or some some other payment site. If anyone interested, then I can provide all necessary information.

  6. Please write a plugin that will help WordPress bloggers deal with the crazy stuff that the Associated Press is doing.

As you've probably heard, the Associated Press has started targeting bloggers. They want bloggers to pay for quoting any text from from Associated Press stories. (12.50 for four words!) Of course most bloggers are plenty peeved about it, especially those bloggers who have received take-down notices from the Associated Press.

I want to stop sending traffic to the Associated Press, so I'd like a plugin that would help me wipe all A.P. content out of my blog in a hurry. Here are the features I'm looking for. Anybody up for a project like this?

  7. mirabilis, you might want to check out the Search and Replace plugin.

On another note, this GPL Open Directory Project software might be useful to quite a few people if it could be turned into a plugin. I thought it had been a plugin once, but I can't find it; maybe the site is down...
