A new Update to the AWSOM News Announcement plugin for Wordpress has been released and is available at http://www.awsom.org. Now besides placing a news announcement block above your posts on the index with no theme editing you can also run php code directly within the news box (with the option to disable this) so that various audio/video and other plugins can work directly from the box. Along with built in Visual editor support it makes it easy to place any news or player on your index page--all editable from the admin area like your pages or posts.
