The most important improvment is to drop Sajax and use the prototype framework instead since it comes bundled with WordPress. This resolved the problem of hanging backups on webservers with a hardened version of PHP as Sajax needs to access PHP superglobals within it's functions (see the forum). Some smaller bugs were fixed too.
