WordPress MU and BuddyPress Plugin Contest 2009

As in last year, following our own Plugin Competition (results are on the way), WPMU.org is holding their own plugin competition. But this time they are adding BuddyPress plugins into the mix as well. You can visit the WPMU Plugin Competition Homepage for more information.

The rules for the competition remain the same as last year. Competitors need to post as announcement for their plugin(s) by registering at WPMU.org and submitting a post. The plugins must relate to WordPress MU or BuddyPress and be available freely for download. The plugins must also be released under a GPL compatible license. The prize pool is at $1000 and the organizers are looking for more donations to bolster the purse.

So if you are a novice plugin author looking to wade in the WordPress MU pool or a seasoned veteran looking to flex your muscles, head over to the competition and post an entry!

WPMU.org has changed hands and the blog is now written by James and Andrew from Incsub. WPMU.org is intended to be a WeblogToolsCollection for WordPress MU with the latest and greatest news, MU plugins, themes, SEO tips, ‘How to’ guides etc. If you are a WordPress MU user, add their feed to your feed reader and if you have something to share with their readers, take a gander at their contribute page. Incsub has been an ardent supporter and reader of WeblogToolsCollection and they are good people.

Farms 100 Big Ones Theme Pack

Farms 100 Big Ones Theme Pack: Download this 100 WordPress themes zip file (17MB) and upload them to your blog to have 100 themes to play around with. Many of these themes are older but they are all widgetized, have a bunch of bug fixes, are internationalized, work on both WordPress and WordPress Mu and they have been time tested on Edublogs. I normally would not suggest that users download themes from sources other than the original theme authors’ site, but this is offered from a trusted source and the convenience of a single zip file added to the additional testing and bug fixing performed by Edublogs, is the icing on the cake.
