Not sure what the point is of the first one… the featured image is automatically included in the RSS feed for the post – at least it seems to be doing on our site. Does the featured image not form part of the post itself? If so it would always be included in the RSS without the need for a plugin.
Actually, quite a few themes don’t display featured images within the post. For example, Twenty Eleven displays the featured image instead of the header image on the post page.
