Nice, I’m from Chicago and would love to attend but I need to know the date their aiming for? Exciting times, Wordcamp Chicago- that caught my attention! I’m only a short hour and half away. If it’s not during a semester, I’ll be there. Thanks
I live up in Milwaukee, but I am sure one of my WordPress junkies and I could make it. I will need to know when it is, but I have been waiting for a WordCamp Milwaukee or WordCamp Chicago for awhile now! Seems I got my wish. hehe
I’m in Aurora, and have been waiting for WC to come to the Windy City. Any idea as to when it’ll be here other than next year? The site (which, along with its Twitter page, hasn’t been updated since October) appears to be leaning towards a June 2009 date, but has anyone actually HEARD anything?
Hey Mark, thanks for the post on this – ironically enough, I have been trying to work out more details this week on the venue, but we are expecting a great turnout. At this point, the dates for WordCamp Chicago are Saturday June 6th and Sunday morning June 7th – I’ve confirmed with Maya at Automattic that Matt Mullenweg will be attending and speaking at the event, so I doubt the dates will change. Stay tuned as the site should be updated with more info and registration very soon!
[…] I want to thank Mark Ghosh and Lorelle VanFossen for mentioning WordCamp Chicago on Weblog Tools Collection and the Blog Herald over the past week – – it is very much appreciated! Spread the word – […]

Holy crap, that is an all star lineup of organizers heh. Hmm, it could be possible that I reach three WordCamps in 2009 rather than 1 or 2.

I’m in the Chicago area and I really hope I can go. I have a big exam in mid-June, so as long as it’s not in the middle of that, I’m there!
I have been exited about WordCamp Chicago and have been waiting for the details. Hopefully they’ll have the dates ironed out soon.

I’ve been hoping to see Chi on the list, I’ll be there! (and bring the friend who got me hooked on wp)
Would absolutely love to attend WordCamp Chicago! I live in the city so it would be very convenient

Thanks for the update, Brian.
It’s about time we get one here in Chicago! Can’t wait!
This is amazing news!
I’m looking froward to the announcement date!
I’m in…
Bring it back to Chicago! I’m in Niles, Michigan and would much rather make this trip than the one to NYC
