As for me, I still haven't been able to grasp the difference between an open source project and a commodity project. It seems that with the former, you get users to do the hard work for you, while your outfit makes a killing at the bourses. Of course, I may be completely wrong about this. My point is where and when does herd mentality turn into closure. Why is there always safety in numbers. And even if we resign to this fact of life, how do we know whether all the refinement justified all the feedback.</description>
